Installation Tips
Straight from the Yale Kyra Pro installation guide and parts list:
- Cut the door using the supplied template, insert the mortice, then gently pull the mortice cable to the inside of the door through the top hole and secure the mortice with the two mortice screws.
- Feed the front-body cable through the top hole, then align the positioning plug and threaded pull tube to their holes and seat the front-body gasket firmly against the door face.
- Choose the correct spindle, pull tube and pull screw length for your door thickness - the accessories kit includes several sizes to cover 35-110mm doors.
- Fit the wooden or steel door striker plate to suit your door, and use the striker box for timber doors.
- Do not test the mechanical key override until installation is complete - testing it early can cause complications or damage.
- It is a mortice lock and needs accurate door preparation - we recommend a locksmith or a confident, advanced DIYer. Terry's can supply and install: site survey and installation services. My fingerprint is not reading reliably - what helps?
Enrol the same finger two or three times, including slightly different angles, and make sure the finger is clean and dry when you present it. Very dry, wet or heavily worn fingertips read less consistently on any biometric lock, which is exactly why the Kyra Pro also gives you PIN, card and key.

What if I lose my phone, or get a new one?
Your PIN, fingerprint, card and mechanical key all still work, so you are never locked out. Sign in to your Yale Home account on the replacement phone and your devices reappear - there is no need to set the lock up again. If a phone is lost or stolen, sign in from another device and use the lost-phone option to log that handset out of your account.

Close and reopen the app first, then check you are signed in to the correct account, since devices are tied to the account that set them up. If a device is still missing, confirm it has not been removed by another owner. As a last resort, uninstalling and reinstalling the app does not delete your lock or its users.

Why do voice assistants need the hub if my speaker already has Bluetooth?

The full-height handle replaces the usual lever. From outside you present a credential and pull; from inside you simply push. The fully automatic lock case does the rest, throwing the bolt once the door closes, so there is no lever to turn and no separate deadbolt action to remember.

What does IP52 actually mean here?
IP52 means the external module resists limited dust ingress and vertically dripping water when tilted up to 15 degrees. It is not weatherproof - avoid direct rain, sprinklers and water jets, and do not fit it where it takes the full weather. The internal module is not weather rated at all.

Exploded assembly - exterior front body and interior main body, with the threaded pull tubes (1), pull screws (2), spindle (3), positioning plugs (4) and transmission plate (5)
Installation sequence at a glance
- Confirm the door opening direction and reverse the latch bolt if needed (remove the striker plate, pull the latch out, rotate 180 degrees, refit).
- Fit the transmission plate and secure it with the cotter pin, then cut the positioning plug to the length for your door thickness.
- Remove the handle cover on the main body to expose the fixing screw holes.
- Bore the door using the supplied templates - keep the door open throughout.
- Fit the mortice, pull the mortice cable through the top hole and secure with the two mortice screws.
- Fit the front body: feed the cable through the top hole, align the positioning plug and pull tube, and seat the gasket firmly.
- Fit the main body plate: pull both cables through, place the spindle retaining ring, insert the spindle, secure with pull screws, then remove the ring and spindle and cut the transmission plate to length.
- Fit the main body: insert the spindle with the positioning pin aligned, connect both cable assemblies, tuck excess cable into the door, secure with the M4 round head screws, then refit the handle cover.
- Fit the striker plate and striker box to the jamb using the template.
- Install the six AA batteries and close the cover, then run the acceptance test.

- Contact Gold Coast Smart Locks - operated by Terry's Tradies Pty Ltd and its associated websites, trading names, and subsidiaries - as your authorised retailer, and follow the steps on our Returns & Warranty page.
- Return the product securely packed to protect it in transit, together with your proof of purchase and your name, address, email and phone number.
- ASSA ABLOY assesses the claim. Where the warranty applies, they will (at their option) repair the product, replace it with the same or closest equivalent Yale product, or refund the price you paid.
Claims made directly to ASSA ABLOY require a Case Number from their Customer Service Department before goods are returned - products sent back without a Case Number may not be accepted. Costs of returning a product are the customer's responsibility.
