Battery, Power & Emergency Access
The Luna Pro+ runs on a built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery lasting roughly 9 to 12 months between charges, depending on how often the door is used. A low-battery warning appears from about 20%, so there is plenty of time to recharge.
If the battery is ever fully depleted, a USB Type-C emergency terminal lets you hold a power bank to the lock and unlock it, and a mechanical key override is included as a final backup - you are never locked out by a flat battery.
Remote Access & Smart Home
The included YDM Home Module connects the lock to the Yale Home App over Bluetooth for guest sharing, activity history and Apple HomeKit - available on iOS and Android . For control from anywhere and voice assistants, add the optional Yale Connect Plus Hub 2: it brings remote lock/unlock plus

The external (outside) module is rated IP52: it resists limited dust and vertically dripping water tilted up to 15 degrees. It is not for direct heavy rain, water jets or a fully exposed outdoor gate, and the internal module is for interior use only. Access & Credentials
Yale FaceScan uses 3D structured light rather than a flat photo, so it reads the shape of your face for touch-free entry in under 1.2 seconds, with a false-acceptance rate below 0.001%. You just look and step inside. It stores up to 100 face profiles. Compare it with the other credentials in Chapter 03 - Access Methods.
Up to 100 faces, up to 50 fingerprints, up to 100 PIN codes and up to 100 RFID key tags (two Contactless Key Tags are supplied). That is plenty for a household, extended family or a small share house.
You can pad your real code with extra random digits at the start or end and the lock still opens, so anyone watching over your shoulder cannot read your true PIN. It is a simple, effective anti-peep measure for busy entrances.

Not for everyday use - face, fingerprint, PIN, card, mechanical key and the Yale Home App over Bluetooth all work without it. You need the optional Yale Connect Plus Hub 2 only for remote access from anywhere and voice control with Amazon Alexa, Google Home and Siri.
It bridges your lock to the internet so you can lock, unlock, check status and manage access remotely, and it enables the smart-home integrations. It supports up to 16 Bluetooth and 30 Zigbee Yale devices and connects to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network (not 5 GHz). It has no battery backup, so during a power or internet outage you keep Bluetooth control at the door but lose remote access until service returns.
Yes. From the Yale Home App you can send a virtual key or set a PIN with Always, Recurring or Temporary access, and revoke it at any time. This suits family, cleaners, dog walkers and short-stay guests. See Airbnb & Short-Stay (Chapter 07).

Installation & Setup
Timber doors from 35mm to 100mm thick on a 60mm backset mortice. The fully automatic lockcase and off-centred handle suit most residential entrances. Bring the install template to your installer to confirm the door prep.
Stand square to the lock at a comfortable distance - roughly 40cm to 100cm away - with the camera at a height that suits the household (the system reads faces effectively from about 120cm to 190cm). Enrol in even lighting and, for growing children, re-enrol occasionally as their face changes.
Avoid mounting where the door catches strong, direct sun all year round, especially in high-UV areas, as prolonged heat and UV can shorten the lifespan and affect the finish over time. A sheltered, shaded entrance is ideal.
The YDM Home Module is included. After fitting, enter the master PIN on the keypad then the gear key, press 7 then the gear key to register the module, then add the lock in the Yale Home App. Full steps are in the app and the user guide.
Troubleshooting
Push the battery cover up to remove it and take out the lithium battery. Press and hold the RST button, reinstall the battery while still holding, and release RST when the lock announces "Completed" (about three seconds after power returns). The lock is then reset to factory settings - all users and codes are erased.
This is usually a misaligned door or strike rather than a fault - if the deadbolt has to force past the strike, the motor works harder. Check the door closes freely and the bolt lines up with the strike; adjusting the strike often fixes it. See installation tips in Chapter 12 style troubleshooting and the Yale honest guide.
Check the mobile number is correct and saved in full international format (with country code). Delete and resend the invite from the Yale Home App if needed, and make sure the number you invite matches the number the guest uses to create their Yale Home account.

Coverage is tiered by component type - mechanical parts, electrical and electronic components, and keys each carry their own warranty period. This warranty applies to genuine Yale products purchased new in Australia from ASSA ABLOY or its authorised resellers. It operates in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

- Keep your proof of original purchase (invoice or receipt).
- Contact Gold Coast Smart Locks - operated by Terry's Tradies Pty Ltd and its associated websites, trading names, and subsidiaries - as your authorised retailer, and follow the steps on our Returns & Warranty page.
- Return the product securely packed to protect it in transit, together with your proof of purchase and your name, address, email and phone number.
- ASSA ABLOY assesses the claim. Where the warranty applies, they will (at their option) repair the product, replace it with the same or closest equivalent Yale product, or refund the price you paid.
Claims made directly to ASSA ABLOY require a Case Number from their Customer Service Department before goods are returned - products sent back without a Case Number may not be accepted. Costs of returning a product are the customer's responsibility.

- Normal wear and tear.
- Misuse, abuse, accident, or use outside Yale's published technical specifications.
- Improper maintenance or neglect, or failure to follow ASSA ABLOY's care and maintenance recommendations.
- Use of batteries other than those specified; batteries themselves are not covered.
- Unauthorised alteration, modification or repair by anyone other than ASSA ABLOY authorised personnel.
- Custom orders made to components or specifications supplied by someone other than ASSA ABLOY.
- Goods that were not new when purchased, second-hand goods, or products not originally sold in Australia through ASSA ABLOY or an authorised reseller.
- Products with brands, marks, plates, numbers or other ASSA ABLOY information defaced or removed.
- Use of substitute, replacement or non-genuine ASSA ABLOY parts or cylinders.
- Corrosive exposure, including vapours, chemicals, abrasive compounds, contamination, pollution, coastal air, salt spray and high humidity.
- Removal, refitment or replacement of products, and any associated charges.
Important Notes
Batteries are consumable and are not covered. Cosmetic finishes and appearance are excluded. Stainless steel resists staining but is not stain-proof - tea staining is a natural process and is not covered where cleaning and maintenance guidelines have not been followed.
Damage from salt spray, coastal air, high humidity and other corrosives is excluded. In Gold Coast and coastal locations, choose a suitable finish and follow the care and maintenance guidance to protect your hardware and preserve your cover.
Your Rights Under the Australian Consumer Law
This manufacturer's warranty is in addition to other rights and remedies you may have under the law. Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
