Yale Unity Screen Door Lock - Mortice Body Only

The Yale Unity Screen Door Lock - Mortice Only (YUR/SSDL/MOR) is a genuine Yale (ASSA ABLOY) replacement mortice body for the Yale Unity Security Screen Door Lock. It is the internal mortice mechanism that fits into the edge of the security screen door and drives the self-latching hook bolt that the Unity smart furniture operates.

It is supplied as the mortice mechanism only - it does not include the external or internal furniture, the electronic modules, or a cylinder. Order this part to repair or service an existing Yale Unity screen door installation where the furniture and electronics are being kept. If you need the complete lock, order the full Yale Unity Security Screen Door Lock instead.

Fits the Yale Unity Security Screen Door Lock range
This is the replacement mortice body for the Yale Unity screen door lock - the lock-only Silver and Matt Black, and the Connect Plus Hub 2 bundles in Silver and Matt Black. It is a service part for those locks and is not a standalone lock. If you are not sure the mortice is the part you need, contact Terry's before ordering.

Overview icon Component Overview

The part is a long, narrow stainless steel mortice case with a Yale-branded forend and a countersunk fixing-screw hole near each end. The bolt end carries the self-latching hook/latch bolt that engages the strike in the door jamb. On the case you will find the square spindle follower that the Unity furniture drives, the actuator/cylinder position, and a channel and window for the Door Position Sensor (DPS) cable. Per the Yale Unity install guide, the DPS cable is routed out of the mortice body after the body has been fitted into the screen door, and the body is configured to suit the door's handing.

Product photos of this mortice body are shown in the listing image gallery. This is a mechanical service part, so it has no keypad, fingerprint reader, battery or app of its own - those belong to your existing Unity screen door lock.

What's In The Box

  • 1 x Yale Unity screen door mortice lock body
  • Fixing screws
No furniture, electronics, Door Position Sensor or cylinder is included - retain and re-use these from your existing Yale Unity screen door lock.

Suitable Uses

  • Replacing a worn, sticking or damaged mortice body in an existing Yale Unity smart screen door installation
  • Servicing a Unity screen door lock where the external and internal furniture and electronics are retained
  • Trade repairs and maintenance of Yale Unity Security Screen Door Locks
Not suitable as a standalone lock
This is a mortice body only. It cannot lock a door on its own and does not include the smart furniture or electronics. For a complete lock, order the full Yale Unity Security Screen Door Lock.

  • Re-use your existing furniture and electronics - this part is the mortice body only.
  • Not sure, or want it done right the first time? Terry's can service or replace the mortice for you via a site survey and installation. For screen-door specifics, see Chapter 04 - Door Type Compatibility.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a complete lock?
No - it is the mortice body only. It has no furniture, electronics or cylinder and cannot operate on its own. It replaces the mortice mechanism inside an existing Yale Unity screen door lock. For a complete lock, order the full Yale Unity Security Screen Door Lock.
Which locks does it fit?
The Yale Unity Security Screen Door Lock range - the lock-only Silver and Matt Black, and the Connect Plus Hub 2 bundles.
Does it include the Door Position Sensor or electronics?
No. The DPS cable routes through the body, but the sensor and all electronics come from your existing lock. This part is purely the mechanical mortice.
How do I know if the mortice is the part I need?
If the smart furniture and app still work but the bolt or latch is worn, sticking or damaged, the mortice body is usually the part to replace. If you are unsure, contact Terry's before ordering.
Is it handed?
It is configured to suit the door's handing. Confirm the handing against your door and the Yale Unity install guide before ordering, and take the DPS cable out of the body only after it is installed into the screen door.

Additional Information

Need the complete lock?
Order the full Yale Unity Security Screen Door Lock (furniture plus electronics) in Silver or Matt Black, or the Connect Plus Hub 2 bundle for remote access.
DualDoor pairing
The Yale Unity screen door lock can pair with a Yale Unity Entrance Lock for single-action entry through both doors via the Connect Plus Hub 2. See how DualDoor works.
Screen door clearance matters
If you are fitting or refitting a smart screen door lock, check the clearance between the screen door and the main door first. See check screen door clearance before fitting.
Trade tip
Confirm door handing and strike alignment before installation to ensure correct latch engagement, and check that the hook fully drops into the strike when the door is pulled to.
