Borg BL2600KMG Mechanical Digital Knob Keypad - External Grade - Keypad Only - Chrome Plated
The BL2600KMG is the external-grade member of Borg's 2000-series knob keypad family, supplied as a standalone outside keypad unit. A special layered chrome-plated finish over the housing and knob, together with 316-grade stainless steel internal components, gives it corrosion resistance for outdoor door applications. It is fully mechanical and battery-free - a single PIN opens the door.
This is a keypad-only unit. It replaces a worn or damaged outside keypad on an existing Borg 2000 external installation, or pairs with a Borg 2000-series adaptor kit to convert a compatible Lockwood mortice lock or deadlatch to keyless code entry. No latch, lock body, or inside handle is included. Not suitable for coastal or saline environments - for genuine salt-air exposure, a marine-grade product is required.
Usually same day if ordered before 11am AEST (excluding weekends and Qld public holidays)
This product is supplied as a keypad unit only. It does not include a latch, lock body, inside handle, strike plate, or fixing screws. It is designed for replacing a worn or damaged outside keypad on an existing Borg 2000 external installation, or for retrofit builds using a Borg 2000-series adaptor kit where the lock body is sourced separately. See Compatible Host Products & Adaptor Kits below.
Developed for weather-resistant external applications: garden gates, sheds, external store rooms, and controlled-access side doors. The layered chrome plating sheds rain and resists the everyday weathering that would dull or seize a standard internal keypad.
Guaranteed to resist corrosion in normal weather conditions for up to 1 year. This covers ordinary rain and humidity - not coastal salt air. If the door is within roughly a kilometre of the surf or otherwise salt-exposed, step up to a marine-grade unit; see MG Pro salt-spray ratings explained.
The working components inside are 316-grade stainless steel - the marine-specification alloy - so the mechanism keeps operating cleanly through the humidity and temperature swings of an outdoor position, well after the plated exterior does its job on the surface.
This is a non-ECP model. To change the code, the keypad is removed from the door and the tumblers are repositioned at a bench using tweezers - a fiddly job best done by a locksmith or a confident DIYer. If you need on-door code changing, an Easicode Pro model such as the BL2401KSCECP is the better choice. See the bench code-change method.
Like the rest of the 2000-series, the keypad uses Borg's patented internal load plate to resist forced code entry, and the knob clutches - it turns freely until the correct code is entered, so twisting or wrenching the knob cannot retract the latch.
Entirely mechanical. No power source, no wiring, no app, and no battery maintenance at any point - a real advantage on an outdoor door where batteries would suffer in the cold and damp.
External gates, sheds, and controlled-access side doors.
Heavy duty: consider Lockwood 3572DX, Borg BL7701, or Carbine CDL7200LL.

Compatible Host Products & Adaptor Kits
As a keypad-only spare, the BL2600KMG needs a lock body. On an external door it most often pairs with a Borg 2000-series adaptor kit to retrofit a Lockwood lock, or replaces the outside keypad on an existing Borg 2000-series external installation.
The BL2600KMG also fits the standard Borg 2000-series knob lock body directly as a replacement outside keypad. Confirm your existing lock body and door thickness before ordering.

Frequently Asked Questions
No. This is a keypad-only unit - it does not include a latch, lock body, or inside handle. It must be paired with a compatible Borg 2000-series lock body, or fitted with a Borg 2000-series adaptor kit to retrofit a Lockwood mortice lock or deadlatch. See Compatible Host Products & Adaptor Kits above.
Yes. It is designed for external use with a chrome-plated finish and 316 stainless internals, and carries a 1-year corrosion guarantee in normal weather. It is not suitable for coastal or saline areas - salt air will attack the plating far faster than ordinary weather. For salt-exposed sites, see where marine-grade MG Pro is required.
No. Code changes are performed off the door (a bench procedure using the coded and non-coded tumblers). For on-door code changing, choose an Easicode Pro model such as the BL2401KSCECP. The bench code-change guide walks through it.
It fits the Borg 2000 knob lock body directly, and via the Borg 2000-series adaptor kits it retrofits onto Lockwood 3572 / 3582 mortice locks and the Lockwood 002 deadlatch. For an internal-only door, the satin chrome BL2000KSCNEW is the internal equivalent.
In normal (non-coastal) weather, the chrome plating and 316 stainless internals are built to give years of service, backed by a 1-year corrosion guarantee. Lifespan depends heavily on exposure and installation quality - our lifespan guide explains what shortens or extends it.
Additional Information
External grade (this product) suits ordinary outdoor weather - rain, humidity, temperature swings - away from the coast. Marine grade is a different tier again, built for the salt-laden air near the surf. If your door is coastal, don't rely on external grade; read the salt-spray comparison and choose accordingly. For a fuller picture of what makes a genuine weatherproof unit, see why our range outlasts hardware-store imitations.
Confirm your site environment (external non-coastal), your existing lock body, and door thickness before ordering. A gasket is recommended between the keypad and the door face on any outdoor installation. Browse the full Digital Mechanical Locks range for complete locksets and alternatives.
This product carries Borg's 12-month manufacturer warranty against defects in materials and workmanship, plus a 1-year corrosion-resistance guarantee in normal (non-coastal) weather conditions. Terry's manages all warranty claims locally - contact us first rather than navigating manufacturer channels directly. This warranty operates alongside your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
