Borg BL2000KPB Mechanical Digital Knob Keypad - Keypad Only - Polished Brass
The BL2000KPB is Borg's 2000-series mechanical digital knob keypad in a classic polished brass finish, supplied as a standalone outside keypad unit. It is fully mechanical and battery-free - a single PIN opens the door, and the knob clutches so it turns freely until the correct code is entered.
This is a keypad-only unit. It is designed to replace a worn or damaged outside keypad on an existing Borg 2000 knob installation, or to pair with a Borg 2000-series adaptor kit to convert a compatible Lockwood mortice lock or deadlatch to keyless code entry. No latch, lock body, or inside handle is included. The polished brass finish suits heritage and traditional interiors.
Usually same day if ordered before 11am AEST (excluding weekends and Qld public holidays)
This product is supplied as a keypad unit only. It does not include a latch, lock body, inside handle, strike plate, or fixing screws. It is designed for replacing a worn or damaged outside keypad on an existing Borg 2000 knob installation, or for retrofit builds using a Borg 2000-series adaptor kit where the lock body is sourced separately. For the complete polished brass lockset, see the Borg BL2000PB Complete Lockset.
This is a non-ECP model. To change the code, the keypad is removed from the door and the tumblers are repositioned at a bench using tweezers - a fiddly job best done by a locksmith or a confident DIYer. If you need to change the code frequently and want to do it on the door in about a minute, an Easicode Pro model such as the BL2401KSCECP is the better choice. See the bench code-change method for step-by-step guidance.
The keypad uses Borg's patented internal load plate to resist forced code entry, and the knob clutches - it turns freely until the correct code is entered, so twisting or wrenching the knob cannot retract the latch. Rated to more than 50,000 operating cycles, it is built to keep working through years of daily use.
Entirely mechanical. No power source, no wiring, no app, and no battery maintenance at any point.
Residential, office, and low-traffic commercial internal doors.
Heavy duty: consider Lockwood 3572DX, Borg BL7701, or Carbine CDL7200LL.

Frequently Asked Questions
No. This is a keypad-only unit - it does not include a latch, lock body, or inside handle. It must be paired with a compatible lock body: either as a replacement keypad on an existing BL2000PB lockset, or with a Borg 2000-series adaptor kit to retrofit a Lockwood mortice lock or deadlatch.
No. This is a non-ECP model - the code is changed with the keypad removed from the door (a bench procedure using the coded and non-coded tumblers). If you need on-door code changing, choose an Easicode Pro model such as the BL2401KSCECP. The bench code-change guide walks through the procedure.
It fits the Borg 2000 knob lock body directly, and via the Borg 2000-series adaptor kits it retrofits onto Lockwood 3572 / 3582 mortice locks and the Lockwood 002 deadlatch. See Compatible Host Products & Adaptor Kits above for the specific kits.
No. The BL2000KPB is designed for internal applications only and is not weather rated. For an external-grade 2000-series knob keypad, consider the BL2600KMG external-grade knob keypad.
The 2000-series chamber supports over 8,000 code combinations, and the unit is tested to more than 50,000 operating cycles. Codes are non-sequential, so the digits can be entered in any order once set - there is no order dependency to infer from worn buttons.
Additional Information
The knob turns freely until the correct code is entered; only then does it engage to retract the latch. This means twisting or wrenching the knob cannot open the door. Behind the keypad, the patented load plate resists attempts to force or manipulate the buttons - together they make the 2000-series keypad markedly harder to defeat than a basic pushbutton unit. This is a defining characteristic of mechanical digital locks.
The BL2000KPB is the front half of a Borg retrofit: paired with a 3572, 3582 or 002 adaptor kit, it converts an existing Lockwood mortice lock or deadlatch to keyless code entry. Read why genuine keypad-only units and adaptor kits beat hardware-store imitations.
Confirm lock compatibility and handing before installation, and check whether you need an adaptor kit or spindle for your door thickness. Commonly specified for residential, office, and low-traffic commercial doors, and for heritage interiors where the polished brass finish is a match.
