The lock uses a clutching knob mechanism - the external knob remains free-turning until the correct PIN code is entered, preventing forced rotation. The inside lever is always free to turn, giving immediate egress. An anti-thrust deadlatch pin ensures the door or gate secures automatically on closing.
Code change on the BL2600MGBC is done On The Bench - the lock has to come off the door, and the red (coded) and blue (uncoded) code pieces inside the keypad are rearranged using the supplied tweezers. It works, but it is a fiddly job, best done once and left alone. Code length can be set between 3 and 7 digits, with over 8,000 possible combinations. If you think you might need to change the code more than once, even just once a year, we would point you to the BL2601 MG Pro ECP instead, which lets you reset the code on the door in about 10 seconds.

Installing on a narrow aluminium gate frame?
The BL2600MGBC ships as standard with a 60mm backset tubular latch, which will not fit a narrow 50mm x 50mm aluminium gate frame. You can still fit this lock to a narrow-stile frame - order the matching 28mm backset latch below and use it in place of the standard 60mm latch that comes in the box.

This product (bold row) is the entry-level model in the BL2600/BL2601 marine grade knob family. Both siblings share the same 60mm tubular latch platform and clutching knob mechanism - the difference is coating grade and code-change method, not the lock body itself. Borg's BL2600 family also has a separate, unrelated back-to-back tier under the same "2600" family number - see BL2620MGBC, an External Grade knob/knob back-to-back lock in polished chrome. It is not a finish variant of this product; it is a different door format on a different grade tier.

Borg products sold in Australia are covered against mechanical defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service. Warranty claims are handled by Terry's Tradies Pty Ltd and its associated websites, trading names, and subsidiaries.

What the Warranty Does Not Cover
- Damage arising from misuse, vandalism, or abuse
- Damage resulting from improper installation
- Locks that have been dismantled - dismantling invalidates the warranty
- Normal wear and tear
- Cosmetic damage not affecting function
How to Make a Claim

- Contact Terry's Tradies Pty Ltd first if you purchased through us or one of its associated trading names - we will assess the issue and manage the warranty process with LSC on your behalf. You do not need to contact LSC or Borg Locks UK directly.
- Have your proof of purchase ready (receipt or order confirmation).
- Warranty claims for Borg products in Australia are processed through LSC, the authorised Australian importer and distributor. Where an item is returned to LSC, freight charges must be prepaid and the item returned within the warranty period.
- If LSC finds the returned item to be defective, it will be repaired or replaced, and a detailed assessment report is provided to the customer after examination.
Australian Consumer Law
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
