Borg Mech-Digital Adaptor Plate BL3572KOR - Lockwood 3572 Key Override Conversion - Suits 2000 and 4000 Series Keypads
The Borg BL3572KOR adaptor plate (item code 09351550) lets a Borg 2000 or 4000 Series mechanical digital keypad work the Lockwood 3572 mortice lock already in the door, with key override. Borg sells it as the Lockwood 3572 conversion with key override, and it is one of two key override plates in the range - the other, 09351500 (BL3582KOR), is for the Lockwood 3582.
Choose it when the existing Lockwood 3572 is staying and you want battery-free code entry with a key override (what a mechanical digital lock is). Pair it with one of the Borg keypad-only units listed under What This Plate Converts and the Keypads It Takes, and find the rest of the family in Scar & Adaptor Plates.
Usually ships same day if ordered before 11am AEST (excludes weekends and Queensland public holidays).

- Sits alongside the other Borg 2000 and 4000 Series conversions for the same lock: the BL3572KIT adaptor kit and the BL3572KITBTB back-to-back (BTB) kit.

Suitable Uses
- Doors already fitted with a Lockwood 3572 mortice lock where code entry with a key override is wanted - check the lock and its furniture against Mortice Lever and Escutcheon and Mortice with Longplate Furniture in Buyer's Guide Chapter 02.
- Retrofits that keep a sound Lockwood 3572 rather than replacing the lock - see the retrofit ecosystem, and browse adaptor plates in Scar & Adaptor Plates.
- Adding keypad entry to an existing mortice lock door with a Borg keypad-only unit from Keypads for Smartlocks, instead of fitting a complete lock from Digital Mechanical Locks - see which should you choose in Buyer's Guide Chapter 16.
- Commercial and shared-access doors where a key override is a site requirement - check the duty and compliance points in Chapter 16: Commercial and Heavy Duty first, and compare Lockwood's DX mortice conversion route.

What This Plate Converts and the Keypads It Takes
BL3572KOR converts a Lockwood 3572 mortice lock and takes any of the Borg 2000 and 4000 Series keypad-only units below - order the one that suits the door's handle style and the way you want to change codes. If you choose an Easicode Pro (ECP) keypad, ask us to confirm it with this plate before you order. Lockwood's own keypad locks follow as alternatives.
Other ways to do the same job:
Accessories and Spares
All three are BDS spares for Borg conversions. Thicker doors take the extended spindle - measure yours with door thickness in Buyer's Guide Chapter 02, and ask us if you are unsure which spindle your door needs.

Frequently Asked Questions
Key override means the door can still be opened with a key as well as the code. Borg sells BL3572KOR as the Lockwood 3572 conversion with key override, so it is the plate to choose when the door must still open with a key - for example a managed door where a forgotten code must not lock people out. Why that matters is covered in Key Override Can Be Important; for how the key side will work on your particular door, ask us before ordering.
Match the plate to the Lockwood lock in the door. BL3572KOR (09351550, this plate) is for the timber style Lockwood 3572; 09351500 (BL3582KOR) is for the aluminium style Lockwood 3582. If you are not sure which lock you have, compare your hardware with existing door hardware in Buyer's Guide Chapter 02 and ask us before ordering.
Any Borg 2000 or 4000 Series keypad-only unit listed under What This Plate Converts and the Keypads It Takes - for example the BL2000KSCNEW knob keypad, the BL2301KSC lever keypad or the BL4401KMGPRO 4400 Series lever keypad. Choose by handle style, finish and how you want to change codes; Do You Always Need ECP? helps with the last one.
Borg sells this plate as the Lockwood 3572 conversion with key override, and that is the use we can confirm. We cannot confirm how a code lockout set-up works with BL3572KOR, so please ask us before relying on it for a particular door. If a complete keypad lock with key override would suit you better, Lockwood's 3572DXKO is the alternative.
Yes. BL2000KORSTICKER is the replacement overlay sticker for the two Borg 2000 Series KOR plates - this 3572 plate and the 3582 plate 09351500. It is a cosmetic replacement, listed with the spindles under Accessories and Spares.
Additional Information
- Retrofit, not replacement: keeping a Lockwood lock that is in good order and adding a Borg keypad is the kind of retrofit covered in The Retrofit Ecosystem. How the Borg and Lockwood mech-digi ranges differ is set out in Lockwood, Borg and Carbine - the three ranges.
- The keypad decides how codes change: the plate has no part in setting the code. Easicode Pro (ECP) keypads change on the door (Borg Easicode Pro: the on-door change); other Borg keypads change On The Bench (Borg standard chambers). If you expect to re-code even once a year, choose an ECP keypad (What Does ECP Mean?).
- Measure before you order: confirm the door has a mortice lock (bored cylindrical vs mortice door prep) and that it is a Lockwood 3572 - the Lockwood 3572 on our store is the 60mm backset lock, so measure the backset - then check door thickness so the right spindle can be matched.
- Professional fitting: converting a mortice lock is precise work. Read when DIY is appropriate and when it isn't and the wrong spindle position mistake before starting, or use our professional supply and installation service (Advice and Installation).
- The alternative route: if you would rather fit a complete keypad mortice lock than convert, Lockwood's 3572DXKO has key override and the 3572DX does not; the DX route is explained in Better Suited to Commercial Door Hardware.
Warranty
All Borg locks are warranted against mechanical defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service for a minimum of 12 months from date of sale. The warranty does not cover damage arising from misuse, vandalism, or improper installation. The lock must not be dismantled - doing so will invalidate the warranty. Proof of purchase required for all claims.

BL3572KOR Key Override Plate - FAQ, Fitting and Buying Guide
Buying and fitting answers for the Borg BL3572KOR (09351550) Lockwood 3572 key override conversion. For the wider picture, see Buyer's Guide Chapter 16: Mechanical Digital Locks and Chapter 13: Smart Lock FAQ.
Choosing Between the Borg Conversions
Both are Borg conversions for the Lockwood 3572 that take 2000 and 4000 Series keypads. BL3572KOR (09351550) is the conversion with key override - the key override conversions in the range are this plate and 09351500 for the Lockwood 3582. BL3572KIT is the Lockwood 3572 adaptor kit, and the whole family is compared in its item code family table. If you are unsure which suits your door, ask us.
Yes. 09351550 is the item code and BL3572KOR is the plate's model code - KOR stands for key override, and the partner plate for the Lockwood 3582 is 09351500 (BL3582KOR). Both key override plates appear in stainless steel on page 43 of the BDS security products catalogue. Borg's other name suffixes, Marine Grade Pro (MG Pro) and Easicode Pro (ECP), are decoded in Chapter 16: Decoding Borg Names.
BL3572KOR is sold for Borg 2000 and 4000 Series keypads. For a Borg 5000 Series keypad on a Lockwood 3572, the family's kits are BL50013572K and, with a keypad on each side of the door, BL50013572KBTB. If you are not sure which series your keypad belongs to, ask us before ordering.
Keypads and Code Changes
Yes, if you choose an Easicode Pro (ECP) keypad - ECP keypads change the code on the door (Borg Easicode Pro: the on-door change). The ECP keypads this plate takes are BL2201KSCECP, BL2401KSCECP and BL4401KMGPROECP - ask us to confirm your choice with this plate before you order. Code changing belongs to the keypad, not the plate; What Does ECP Mean? explains the difference.
On The Bench - the keypad comes off the door for a code change (The Bench Method, Borg standard chambers). That suits doors where the code rarely changes; if you expect to re-code even yearly, choose an ECP keypad instead. The non-ECP keypads this plate takes include BL2000KSCNEW, BL2000KPB, BL2301KSC, BL2600KMG, BL2601KMGPRO and BL4401KMGPRO.
No. Borg 2000 and 4000 Series keypads are mechanical digital units, so the finished conversion runs without batteries, wiring or an app (How a Mechanical Digital Lock Works). How that compares with an electronic smart lock is set out in Mechanical Digital Lock vs Smart Lock.
Checking Your Door and Fitting
Compare your lock and its furniture with existing door hardware in Buyer's Guide Chapter 02, then measure the backset: the Lockwood 3572 on our store is the 60mm backset lock, and Lockwood's model numbering is decoded in the model numbers section of the 3572DX page. If your lock carries a different number, ask us before ordering.
Thicker doors take the extended spindle. The standard spare is BLMORTSPDL and the extended spare is BLMORTSPDL120 - read the ordering note on its page first. Measure your door with door thickness in Buyer's Guide Chapter 02 and ask us to confirm the spindle before ordering.
We recommend professional fitting for mortice lock conversions. When DIY Is Appropriate - and When It Isn't sets out the trade-offs, and Wrong spindle position covers the most common spindle mistake. On the Gold Coast, professional supply and installation is available; elsewhere, ask us for a qualified locksmith recommendation.
Other Routes to Consider
The family's back-to-back (BTB) kit for the Lockwood 3572 is BL3572KITBTB, which puts a Borg keypad on each side of the door. BL3572KOR is sold as the key override conversion, so ask us before planning a two-keypad set-up around it. A keypad on the inside means a code to get out as well as in - read what double-sided means and Doors in Required Exit Paths first.
Convert when the Lockwood 3572 is sound and a Borg keypad suits the door: this plate plus a Borg 2000 or 4000 Series keypad. Choose Lockwood's own route when you would rather fit a complete keypad mortice lock - 3572DXKO with key override or 3572DX without. Better Suited to Commercial Door Hardware explains the DX route, and Lockwood vs Borg vs Carbine compares the brands.
