Borg Mech-Digital Adaptor Plate BL3582KOR - Lockwood 3582 Key Override Conversion - Suits 2000 and 4000 Series Keypads
The Borg BL3582KOR adaptor plate (item code 09351500) is for a door that already has a Lockwood 3582 mortice lock and is moving to Borg keypad entry - the KOR in the code stands for key override. Borg sells it as the Lockwood 3582 conversion with key override, and it suits Borg 2000 and 4000 Series mechanical digital keypads, which need no batteries or wiring. This plate suits the aluminium-style Lockwood 3582; for the timber-style Lockwood 3572, the matching key override plate is 09351550 (BL3572KOR).
Order the keypad with the plate. The Borg 2000 and 4000 Series keypad-only units we stock are listed under What This Plate Converts and the Keypads It Takes - the Keypads for Smartlocks category also carries keypads for other locks, so check the series before you order. Borg's standard adaptor kit for the same lock is BL3582KIT, the Scar & Adaptor Plates category is the place to browse adaptor and scar plates, and Chapter 16 - Lockwood, Borg & Carbine explains how the three mechanical digital ranges differ.
Usually ships same day if ordered before 11am AEST (excludes weekends and Queensland public holidays).
Key Features
- Key override conversion for the Lockwood 3582 - one of Borg's two key override adaptor plates; the other, 09351550, is for the Lockwood 3572. Key Override Can Be Important explains where it earns its place.
- Takes Borg 2000 and 4000 Series keypads - knob and lever keypad-only units, including Easicode Pro (ECP) and Marine Grade Pro (MG Pro) versions, all listed under Compatibility.
- Keeps the Lockwood 3582 in the door - a conversion rather than a lock replacement, the approach set out in The Retrofit Ecosystem.
- Stainless steel plate - one stainless steel finish; see Available Finish Options and the plate's entry on page 43 of the BDS Security Products Catalogue 2024/2025 (PDF).
- Replacement overlay sticker available - BL2000KORSTICKER is the replacement overlay for this plate and the 3572 key override plate.
- Code changing comes with the keypad you choose - ECP keypads change the code on the door (Borg Easicode Pro); standard Borg keypads change On The Bench (Borg Standard Chambers).
- A replace-the-lock route too - a Borg lock supplied with the 28mm Ali-Latch and the BDS FPBLS27CONV face plate can take the 3582's place instead; see Compatibility.
Suitable Uses
- Doors already fitted with a Lockwood 3582 mortice lock that are moving to Borg keypad entry with key override - confirm the lock first with Chapter 02 - Existing Door Hardware.
- Aluminium doors carrying the aluminium-style 3582 - the door type compatibility matrix covers aluminium doors, and Door with Narrow Frame lists locks for slim frames if you replace the lock instead.
- Retrofits that keep the existing Lockwood 3582 rather than fitting a complete Borg lock from Digital Mechanical Locks - more conversion parts are in Scar & Adaptor Plates.
- Doors that need a key override as well as a code - Chapter 16 - Commercial & Heavy Duty covers key override alongside the other demands of busy doors.

What This Plate Converts and the Keypads It Takes
This plate converts the Lockwood 3582 mortice lock and takes the Borg 2000 and 4000 Series keypad-only units below - order one with the plate, and if you choose an Easicode Pro (ECP) keypad, ask us to confirm it with this plate first. For a Lockwood 3572, the key override plate is 09351550; to replace the 3582 rather than convert it, see the second table.

All three are BDS spare parts for Borg mechanical digital conversions. The extended spindle is a special order item - check door thickness before choosing between the two spindles.

Frequently Asked Questions
It means the door keeps a key way in as well as the code. Borg sells 09351500 as its Lockwood 3582 conversion with key override, and it is one of Borg's two key override adaptor plates - the other, 09351550, is for the Lockwood 3572. How the key override is arranged on your door is worth confirming with our team before you order; the Heavy Duty guide's Key Override Can Be Important section explains why it can matter on a busy door.
The Lockwood 3582. For a Lockwood 3572 mortice lock, the key override plate is 09351550 (BL3572KOR). Borg's standard adaptor kits for the same two locks are BL3582KIT for the 3582 and BL3572KIT for the 3572, and the Item Code Family table compares them all.
A Borg 2000 or 4000 Series keypad-only unit from the table under What This Plate Converts and the Keypads It Takes. Choose knob or lever first - for example BL2000KSCNEW is a knob keypad and BL2301KSC a lever keypad - then the code change method and finish grade: BL4401KMGPROECP is a lever keypad with both ECP and MG Pro. Decoding Borg Names - MG Pro & ECP explains the model codes.
Keeping it is what this plate is for. The other route removes the 3582 and fits a Borg lock supplied with the 28mm Ali-Latch, with the BDS FPBLS27CONV face plate suiting the door edge cut for the 3582. If you want key override on that route, BL2702SCECP is a Borg lock with key override supplied with the 28mm latch, and BL2002SC is a standard 28mm latch lock. The right choice depends on the door and the condition of the lock, so ask us for advice if you are unsure.
Yes - BL2000KORSTICKER is the replacement overlay sticker for the Borg 2000 Series 3572 and 3582 key override plates, including this one. It is a cosmetic replacement, and the plates it suits are listed on its page.
Additional Information
- The retrofit route: a conversion keeps the Lockwood 3582 in the door and moves it to Borg keypad entry - The Retrofit Ecosystem explains why conversion parts matter, and Spare Parts and Support Matter covers keeping a Borg set-up running.
- Code changes belong to the keypad: if you expect to change the code even once a year, choose an Easicode Pro (ECP) keypad (What Does ECP Mean?, Borg Easicode Pro: The On-Door Change); standard Borg keypads change On The Bench (Borg Standard Chambers).
- Measure before you order: confirm the lock is a Lockwood 3582 with Existing Door Hardware and check door thickness - thicker doors take the extended BLMORTSPDL120 spindle rather than the standard BLMORTSPDL. Ask us if the measurements leave any doubt.
- Fitting: When DIY Is Appropriate - and When It Isn't helps you decide between fitting it yourself and calling a locksmith, and door misalignment is one of the common installation mistakes to rule out first. For help, see Advice and Installation, or book a free site survey on the Gold Coast.
- Busy doors: before converting a high-traffic or commercial door, compare the keypad options with heavier hardware in Chapter 16 - Commercial & Heavy Duty and Questions to Ask Before Choosing.
Warranty
All Borg locks are warranted against mechanical defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service for a minimum of 12 months from date of sale. The warranty does not cover damage arising from misuse, vandalism, or improper installation. The lock must not be dismantled - doing so will invalidate the warranty. Proof of purchase required for all claims.

Choosing Between This Plate and the Kits
All three convert a Lockwood 3582 for Borg 2000 and 4000 Series keypads; this plate is the one Borg sells as the 3582 conversion with key override. BL3582KIT is Borg's standard 3582 adaptor kit, and BL3582KITBTB is the back-to-back (BTB) kit, with a Borg keypad on each side of the door. The Item Code Family table sets out the whole range.
Borg's Lockwood 3582 kit for 5000 Series keypads is BL50013582K, which Borg sells for outward-opening doors only. This plate is sold for Borg 2000 and 4000 Series keypads, so match the plate or kit to the keypad series you have, and ask us if you are unsure.
Identify the lock body before you order. Chapter 02 - Existing Door Hardware shows the mortice lever and escutcheon and mortice longplate set-ups. This plate suits the aluminium-style 3582, while 09351550 suits the timber-style Lockwood 3572. If the model is still not clear, ask us before ordering.
Keypads and Code Changes
A keypad that works mechanically, with no batteries, wiring or app. The code is held in a mechanical coding chamber - How a Mechanical Digital Lock Works explains it, and Mechanical Digital Lock vs Smart Lock compares the two if you are still deciding. Borg's range is profiled in Chapter 10 - Borg.
On the door. Borg's ECP keypad-only units for this plate - BL2201KSCECP, BL2401KSCECP and BL4401KMGPROECP - are re-coded in place; Borg Easicode Pro: The On-Door Change covers the method and Why On-Door Code Change Matters covers when it pays off. The code change belongs to the keypad, not the plate, but ask us to confirm your ECP keypad with this plate before you order.
On The Bench rather than on the door. Standard keypads such as BL2000KSCNEW, BL2301KSC, BL2601KMGPRO and BL4401KMGPRO use this method - The Bench Method and Borg Standard Chambers explain what is involved. If you expect to change the code regularly, even once a year, choose an ECP keypad instead; When to Call a Locksmith covers handing the job over.
No - they describe different things. ECP is Borg's on-door code change system and MG Pro marks Borg's marine grade models, so a keypad can have one, both or neither: BL4401KMGPROECP has both, BL4401KMGPRO is MG Pro only and BL2401KSCECP is ECP only. MG Pro and ECP Are Different Things sets them side by side, and Borg MG Pro: The Outdoor Specialist explains where MG Pro suits.
Measuring, Fitting and Dimensions
Check the spindle as well as the plate. Thicker doors take the extended BLMORTSPDL120 spindle instead of the standard BLMORTSPDL, and BLMORTSPDL120 is a special order item. Measure the door as shown in Chapter 02 - Door Thickness and ask us to confirm which spindle your door needs before you order.
On page 43 of the BDS Security Products Catalogue 2024/2025 (PDF), where 09351500 appears with its width, height and thickness alongside the other Borg adapter plates. Dimensioned keypad drawings are in the Borg BL2000 Series Product Leaflet (PDF) for the 2000 Series keypad and the Borg BL4400 Series Brochure (PDF) for the 4400 Series keypad.
That depends on your confidence with mortice locks and door hardware. When DIY Is Appropriate - and When It Isn't helps you decide, and The Three Most Common DIY Installation Mistakes covers the traps, including wrong spindle position. If you would rather hand it over, professional supply and installation is available on the Gold Coast, or ask us to recommend a qualified locksmith.
Backset and stile width first - see Chapter 02 - Backset, Stile Width and Measuring Your Lock Backset. That route uses a Borg lock supplied with the 28mm Ali-Latch, such as BL2702SCECP (with key override) or BL2002SC, and the FPBLS27CONV face plate for the 3582 cut-out. Door with Narrow Frame lists other locks for slim frames.
