The Carbine CKS-SH-DI-L is a large shackle mounted key safe with a 4-dial mechanical combination. The integrated shackle attaches to gates, fence rails, handrails, pipes, or any suitable fixed anchor point via a dedicated Release Button on the side. The combination is factory preset at 0-0-0-0 and user-resettable via an internal Reset Button using the same press-and-hold method as the wall-mounted dial models. This is a fully mechanical product with no batteries and no electronics.

No. The CKS-SH-DI-L is fully mechanical. The 4-dial combination and shackle mechanism operate with no battery, no electronics, and no connectivity.
The CKS-SH-DI-L ships preset at 0-0-0-0. To set your own code: open the storage compartment, press and hold the Reset Button inside the body while you scramble the dials to your chosen combination, then release the button. Do not release the Reset Button until your new combination is fully set. Verify your new code before closing. Full illustrated steps are in the Brochure tab.
The shackle is released by pressing the Release Button on the side of the safe body. Once released, the shackle can be removed and looped around your chosen anchor point - a gate rail, fence post, handrail, or pipe. Reattach by relocating the shackle into the lock housing. No tools are required at any point.
The CKS-SH-DI-L internal cavity is 65 x 29 x 80 mm. The CKS-SH-DI-S (Small) is 57 x 31 x 75 mm. The Large is noticeably bigger in all three dimensions and will comfortably hold 3-5 standard door keys or 1-2 keys with larger fobs. The Small suits 1-2 standard keys only.
The CKS-W-DI-L and CKS-SH-DI-L share identical body dimensions and internal cavity. The wall-mounted model has a flip cover over the dials and fixes permanently to a wall via screws; this shackle model hangs via its integrated shackle with no wall fixing. Choose the shackle model when drilling is not permitted or when portability matters; choose the wall model when a permanent, discrete installation with dial weather protection is preferred.
Additional Information
A shackle model gives you installation flexibility that a wall-fixed model cannot. You can fit it to a gate, fence, or rail in under a minute with zero surface damage, and remove or relocate it just as quickly. The practical consideration is that a shackle-mounted unit is slightly more susceptible to physical removal than a screw-fixed wall safe. To minimise this risk, attach the shackle to an anchor point that is itself fixed and not easily cut or removed - a steel gate rail or solid post is better than a lightweight fence paling.
The 4-dial model is the right choice when the combination stays the same for extended periods and access is typically in daylight. If you need to change the code frequently (for example between short-stay guests), the CKS-SH-BUT-L (10-button model) re-codes faster and supports a wider variety of sequences. The CKS-SH-DI-L is designed for outdoor use. Unlike the smaller CKS-SH-DI-S which has a shutter hatch over the dial face, this large model has an open-face dial panel. For permanently exposed outdoor installations, mounting in a sheltered position - under an eave, fence overhang, or covered gate post - will extend dial readability and mechanism life. How to Make a Claim
- Contact Terry’s Tradies Pty Ltd (the place of purchase) in writing as soon as the defect becomes apparent — and no later than 14 days after the end of the applicable warranty period.
- Include in your written claim: a description of the defect, the date of supply, your contact details, and satisfactory proof of purchase.
- Do not return the product until a return authorisation number has been issued by Davcor. If return is required, the product must be in its original, complete, and saleable packaging.
- Davcor will test and assess the product. No claim is valid unless Davcor has confirmed a defect is present.
- Once a valid claim is confirmed, Davcor will — at its discretion — repair the defect, replace the product, or supply an equivalent product. If repair or replacement cannot be completed within a reasonable time, you may request a full refund, provided the product has been returned.
Delivery inspection: If you believe a product is defective or incorrectly supplied at the time of delivery, telephone notice must be given within 72 hours of receipt, with written notice (including full particulars) within 14 days of the invoice date.

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure, and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.
