The Carbine CKS-W-DI-L is a large wall mounted key safe with a 4-dial mechanical combination and a protective flip cover. It offers a substantially larger internal cavity than the compact CKS-W-DI-S, making it the right choice when multiple keys, bulky key fobs, or access cards need to be stored at a single secure location.
The aluminium alloy body and flip cover work together to protect the dials from weather, dust, and UV exposure - a meaningful improvement over open-dial models for permanent outdoor installations. The combination is factory preset at 0-0-0-0 and user-resettable via an internal reset button, with no tools required beyond a coin or fingernail. This is a fully mechanical product - no batteries, no electronics, and no connectivity of any kind.

No. The CKS-W-DI-L is fully mechanical. The 4-dial combination operates with no electronics or battery of any kind. The CR2032 battery slot shown in the instruction document applies to the LED model (CKS-W-DI-LED-L) only - the standard CKS-W-DI-L has no battery requirement.
The CKS-W-DI-L arrives preset at 0-0-0-0. To set your own code: turn the dials to 0-0-0-0 and open the door, then locate the reset button inside the safe body, press and hold it while you scramble the dials to your chosen combination, then release the reset button. Do not release the button until your new combination is fully set. Full illustrated steps are in the Brochure tab above.
The flip cover closes over the dial face to shield the dials from direct rain, UV degradation, and dust accumulation. It is a meaningful improvement for permanent outdoor installations - without it, dial markings can fade and the mechanism can become stiff in exposed locations over time. The internal cavity measures 65 x 29 x 80 mm - typically 3 to 5 standard door keys, or 2 to 3 keys with standard key fobs. It is a significant step up in capacity from the compact CKS-W-DI-S (68 x 27 x 50 mm). For applications requiring access cards or very large fob sets, consider the CKB-W-NC-XL (Extra Large, camlock ready).
The CKS-W-DI-LED-L is mechanically identical but adds LED-illuminated dials for low-light and night-time access - useful if the key safe is mounted in a location without ambient lighting (e.g. a dark driveway or side gate). The LED requires a CR2032 battery. If your installation is in a lit area, the standard CKS-W-DI-LED-L costs slightly more and adds one maintenance item; the CKS-W-DI-L is the simpler, battery-free option.
Additional Information
Among the wall mounted dial models, the CKS-W-DI-L is the first to include a flip cover. The CKS-W-DI-S (Small) has an open dial face; the Large and LED-Large models both feature the flip cover. For any installation that will be in place for more than 12 months or exposed to direct sun or sea air, the flip cover is worth having - it extends the readable life of the dial markings and keeps the mechanism cleaner.
The CKS-W-DI-L mounts on two screws spaced 38 mm wide by 70 mm tall (from the instruction diagram). You will need a Pozi/cross-head screwdriver, pencil, spirit level, drill bit, drill, and hammer. Open the door before marking the wall - the fixing holes are inside the body. Carbine recommends scrambling the dials after every use to prevent an observer reading the last-used combination. The CKS-W-DI-L is the right choice when the combination changes infrequently and access is typically in daylight. How to Make a Claim
- Contact Terry’s Tradies Pty Ltd (the place of purchase) in writing as soon as the defect becomes apparent — and no later than 14 days after the end of the applicable warranty period.
- Include in your written claim: a description of the defect, the date of supply, your contact details, and satisfactory proof of purchase.
- Do not return the product until a return authorisation number has been issued by Davcor. If return is required, the product must be in its original, complete, and saleable packaging.
- Davcor will test and assess the product. No claim is valid unless Davcor has confirmed a defect is present.
- Once a valid claim is confirmed, Davcor will — at its discretion — repair the defect, replace the product, or supply an equivalent product. If repair or replacement cannot be completed within a reasonable time, you may request a full refund, provided the product has been returned.
Delivery inspection: If you believe a product is defective or incorrectly supplied at the time of delivery, telephone notice must be given within 72 hours of receipt, with written notice (including full particulars) within 14 days of the invoice date.

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure, and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.
