The Borg BL5051MGPROECP is the flagship marine-grade variant of Borg's back-to-back lever/lever range - a fully mechanical digital lock that puts a complete keypad and lever on both faces of the door. A PIN code is required to pass through in either direction, which makes it the Borg answer for double-sided access control on coastal gates and doors. Each keypad has its own independent coding chamber, so both sides can share one code or run completely different codes, and the free passage function can be engaged or disengaged per side.
It combines two of Borg's premium designations in one lock: Marine Grade Pro 2 construction - 316 stainless steel internal components under a black marine external coating, tested to 1,000 hours of continuous salt spray - and Easicode Pro (ECP) on-door code changing, so codes on either side can be changed in about 30 seconds without removing the lock from the door.

Borg warrants the corrosion resistance of this Marine Grade Pro lock for 12 months from the date of sale under specified conditions - a warranty most competing finishes cannot offer in salt air.
Successfully tested up to 4 hours (depending on the doorset) on fire door assemblies in accordance with AS 1905.1-2005 Fire Resistant Doorsets. The PIN code on either keypad can be changed while the lock is on the door. Insert the supplied code change key over the Φ button, rotate 90 degrees clockwise and hold, press C to clear, enter the new code, press each digit again to confirm, then release the key. No lock removal, no tools, about 30 seconds per side. Code changing can be permanently disabled with the included plug if required. Full keypads sit on both faces of the door, and the inside lever will not operate until the correct PIN is entered. There is no free-exit lever. Before purchasing, confirm this arrangement complies with the fire egress and building regulations for your specific doorway - see exit paths on double-sided locks. If you need free inside egress, choose the single-sided Borg BL5001 instead - same platform, free-turning inside lever.
Each keypad has its own mechanical coding chamber. Both sides can share the same code, or each side can run a completely different code - useful where entry is shared but exit is restricted to staff, or vice versa. The free passage function is also engaged and disengaged per side, independently.
During busy periods either side can be set to free passage: enter the code, rotate the lever, then press F while the lever is rotated - that side's lever becomes free-turning without needing the code on each use. To return to locked mode, rotate the lever and press C until an audible click is heard. If free passage is never wanted, the included plug permanently deactivates the function on that side. The BL5051 is the back-to-back version of the single-sided BL5001. Two spindles are supplied (80mm and 90mm) - use the longest that fits. The working rule is door thickness plus 30mm as the minimum spindle length, because at least 15mm must seat into each side's mechanism. A 50mm door therefore needs at least the 80mm spindle. Spindles may only be cut from one end, and never shorter than necessary. Doors thicker than 80mm need the XL fixing kit (to 85mm).
Additional Information
Monthly - apply a light spray of silicon-based lubricant (GT85 or equivalent) to both keypads and levers and wipe off the excess; never use oil-based lubricants, which gum the chambers. When specifying for a fire door, confirm every other item of hardware in the assembly is fire rated and compatible with the doorset certification, and confirm the code-to-exit arrangement complies with the emergency egress requirements for that doorway before ordering - a back-to-back lock is not automatically acceptable on every fire exit path. If the door already carries a Lockwood 3572 mortice lock, the BL50013572KBTB back-to-back adaptor kit lets these 5000-series keypads mount straight onto the existing mortice prep - no re-boring the door for the tubular latch.
There is no key override on this model, so a lost code on a locked door is a locksmith job. On an open door, the coding chamber's tumbler line can be read to identify a lost code - the procedure is in the BL5000 ECP instruction set (PDF). On a managed site, keep the ECP code change key with the site manager and fit the code-change deactivation plug on the public-facing side. Warranty
All Borg locks are warranted against mechanical defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service for a minimum of 12 months from date of sale. Corrosion resistance on this Marine Grade Pro model is also warranted for 12 months under specified conditions. The warranty does not cover damage arising from misuse, vandalism, or improper installation, and the lock must not be dismantled.

Access and Codes
Not quite. This is a purely mechanical coding chamber: each keypad holds one code, and the digits are pressed in any order - the chamber only cares that the correct set of buttons is depressed. Press C first to clear any half-entered attempt, enter the code, then turn the lever. Each digit can be used once per code.
About 30 seconds per side once you have done it twice, and the only "tool" is the supplied code change key - a small key that engages over the Φ button. No screwdrivers, no removing the lock, no tumbler tweezers. This is the whole point of Easicode Pro over the tumbler-bench method used on the non-ECP BL5051 variants - compare the methods at changing codes on Borg locks and why ECP matters.
Yes - that is the free passage function. Enter the code, rotate the lever, press F while the lever is rotated, and that side becomes free-turning. Do it on both sides and the door is fully free in both directions. Rotate the lever and press C (until the click) on each side to return to locked mode. No - this model has no key override, which is also why there is no cylinder to corrode or pick. With the door open, the code can be identified from the chamber's tumbler line (procedure in the BL5000 ECP instruction set); with the door locked it is a locksmith visit. If your site policy requires a keyed bypass, the BL5771MGPROECP is this lock with keyed override on both faces.
No - one active code per keypad, no user list, no audit trail. Salt spray testing runs the hardware in a continuous saline fog chamber. Standard external-grade finishes are typically tested to around 240 hours; MG Pro 2 runs to 1,000 continuous hours - roughly four times the exposure - with 316 stainless steel internals behind the coating. Electronics and salt air are a poor mix - corroded battery terminals, failed keypads and dead boards are the common coastal failure modes documented in the realities of electronic door locks. A monthly light spray of silicon-based lubricant (GT85 or equivalent) over the keypads and levers, wiped of excess, and an annual internal spray through the button holes with a full button-and-lever test. Fit and Installation
The standard 60mm-backset tubular latch runs about 80mm behind the faceplate and fits comfortably in a 100x50mm frame. For narrower stiles Borg makes a 28mm-backset narrow stile latch (BLS275000) - contact Terry's to add one to your order. Measure first: gate post too narrow for a 60mm latch?
Yes - the BLSMGPRO570 MG Pro tube latch is the black marine-grade 70mm latch made for the MG Pro 5000 and 7701 series, so the latch matches the lock's corrosion tier as well as its colour. The satin chrome BLL500070 also fits if finish is not a concern.
Neither - the lock is reversible on site for left and right hand doors, and the handing procedure for both keypad units is in the BL5000 ECP instruction set (PDF). Set the handing before mounting the units to the door.
Yes, with the BL50013572KBTB back-to-back adaptor kit - it mounts both 5000-series keypad units onto the existing 3572 mortice prep, driving the mortice instead of a tubular latch. For open-out doors on the short-backset Lockwood 3582 prep, use the BL50013582K kit. So BL5051MGPRO is marine with the tumbler code change, BL5051MGECP is external grade with ECP, and this lock - MGPROECP - is both: marine grade and on-door code change.

How to Make a Claim
- Contact Terry's Tradies Pty Ltd first if you purchased through us or one of its associated trading names - we will assess the issue and manage the warranty process with LSC on your behalf. You do not need to contact LSC or Borg Locks UK directly.
- Have your proof of purchase ready (receipt or order confirmation).
- Warranty claims for Borg products in Australia are processed through LSC, the authorised Australian importer and distributor. Where an item is returned to LSC, freight charges must be prepaid and the item returned within the warranty period.
- If LSC finds the returned item to be defective, it will be repaired or replaced, and a detailed assessment report is provided to the customer after examination.

You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.
