Vault Nexus Push Pull Smart Deadbolt with 3D Face Recognition
The Vault Nexus is a smart deadbolt designed for front-door applications where a compact push pull body and advanced biometric access are preferred over a traditional mortice lock. Nexus is a premium smart deadbolt with 3D facial recognition and multiple digital entry methods.
Nexus supports facial recognition, fingerprint, PIN code, Bluetooth, RFID card, and app control, with optional remote access available through the Vault G5 Wi-Fi Gateway. Its deadbolt configuration makes it mechanically different from Vault's mortice-lock models. A video-intercom variant, the Nexus Vision, adds a fish-eye camera and app-based video intercom.
Usually ships in 3 business days.

Wi-Fi Remote Access (Optional)
This smart lock operates via Bluetooth connectivity as standard. Remote access and internet-based control are available only when paired with a compatible Vault Wi-Fi gateway.
When connected to a gateway, users can remotely lock or unlock the door, manage credentials, review activity, and add supported Alexa or Google Home functionality. The dual-band G5 avoids the band-steering problem that affects single-band gateways.
For remote functionality, see the Vault G5 Gateway.
Nexus includes a backup physical key for emergency access.
Frequently Asked Questions
Nexus is a deadbolt smart lock rather than a mortice-lock model. It fits a bored deadbolt preparation rather than a mortice pocket.
Yes. It uses 3D facial recognition (50 face profiles per the supplied manual), alongside the other access methods.
Yes, but only when paired with the Vault G5 Wi-Fi Gateway. Without the gateway, the lock operates locally via Bluetooth, keypad, face recognition, fingerprint, RFID and mechanical key. See our guide to what a gateway does.
Yes. The Vault Nexus Vision adds a fish-eye camera and a two-way, app-based video intercom with built-in 2.4GHz Wi-Fi (no separate gateway needed), in the same deadbolt format.
No. Vault smart locks are not certified for fire-rated doors. For Queensland fire door compliance requirements, see Chapter 05 of our Buyer's Guide.
The box includes the front and back panels, mortice/bolt, RFID cards, mechanical keys, strike box, waterproof plate and fixings - see the What's in the Box tab for the full list. Batteries (4 x AA) are not included.
Yes. Deadbolt fitment depends on your door's existing bore and thickness. See our installation guide and our guide to common mistakes.
Additional Information
Nexus is best suited to applications where a deadbolt-style smart lock is preferred over a full mortice-lock system. See where each Vault model sits in the Vault brand profile.
The Vault Nexus Vision is the video-intercom variant of this deadbolt, adding a fish-eye camera, app video intercom and built-in Wi-Fi. The lever Guardian Vision and push-pull Fortress Vision add an indoor screen as well. For the full lineup, see the Vault smart lock range overview.
Deploying facial recognition in a commercial, strata, or managed rental setting may trigger obligations under the Australian Privacy Act. Review these requirements before installation.
Deadbolt fitment depends on the existing bore and latch preparation, so compatibility should be checked before ordering - see our guide to common hardware and backset selection mistakes and Chapter 02 - Measuring Your Door.
Nexus's IP66 rating applies to the external (outside) module only; the internal module, which houses the battery compartment, is for interior use. Correct installation and maintenance still matter, particularly in coastal Queensland environments where salt air accelerates wear.
Nexus is Bluetooth-first. For remote unlocking, notifications and voice control, add the Vault G5 Gateway. The dual-band G5 avoids the band-steering issue that affects single-band gateways - see Chapter 08 - Gateway Comparison.
Powered by 4 x AA batteries (6V; not included per the manual), with a mechanical key backup for all power conditions. For charge and maintenance expectations, see our guide to smart lock battery life.
Nexus is positioned as a residential front-door smart deadbolt. It is not suitable for fire-rated doors, high-cycle storeroom duty, or applications outside its residential design intent.
