Vault Fortress Push Pull Smart Mortice Lock with 3D Face Recognition
The Vault Fortress is a push pull smart mortice lock designed for homeowners wanting a feature-rich entry lock with advanced biometric access. Fortress sits within the signature range and combines 3D facial recognition with a modern long-body push pull format.
Fortress supports facial recognition, fingerprint, PIN code, Bluetooth, RFID card, and app control, with optional remote access available when paired with the Vault G5 Wi-Fi Gateway. Its smart mortice format makes it suitable for hinged-door applications where a full-featured entry lock is required. A video-intercom variant, the Fortress Vision, adds an indoor screen, fish-eye camera and built-in Wi-Fi.
Usually ships in 3 business days.

Wi-Fi Remote Access (Optional)
This smart lock operates via Bluetooth connectivity as standard. Remote access and internet-based control are available only when paired with a compatible Vault Wi-Fi gateway.
When connected to a gateway, users can remotely lock or unlock the door, manage credentials, view activity, and add Alexa or Google Home functionality on supported systems. The dual-band G5 avoids the band-steering problem that affects single-band gateways.
For remote functionality, see the Vault G5 Gateway.
This lock includes a mechanical key override to ensure access remains available if batteries are low or electronic access cannot be used.
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. It uses 3D facial recognition (50 face profiles per the supplied manual), alongside the other access methods.
Yes, but only when paired with the Vault G5 Wi-Fi Gateway. Without the gateway, the lock operates locally via Bluetooth, keypad, face recognition, fingerprint, RFID and mechanical key. See our guide to what a gateway does.
Yes. The Vault Fortress Vision adds a two-way video intercom, a built-in indoor display screen, an external fish-eye camera and built-in 2.4GHz Wi-Fi (no separate gateway needed), in the same push-pull format.
The IP66 rating applies to the external (outside) module only; the internal module (battery and electronics) is for interior use.
No. Vault smart locks are not certified for fire-rated doors. For Queensland fire door compliance requirements, see Chapter 05 of our Buyer's Guide.
The Fortress push-pull range uses the Vault Fortress Innovative Mortice. Confirm your door's preparation and thickness before ordering.
Yes. Sending door photos before purchase is recommended. See our installation guide and our guide to common mistakes.
Additional Information
The Vault Fortress Vision is the video-intercom variant of this lock, adding an indoor display screen, a fish-eye camera and built-in Wi-Fi. If you do not need the camera or screen, the standard Fortress offers the same biometric access. See the Vault brand profile.
For an on-device video experience, the lever Guardian Vision and the deadbolt Nexus Vision round out the range. For the full lineup, see the Vault smart lock range overview.
Deploying facial recognition in a commercial, strata, or managed rental setting may trigger obligations under the Australian Privacy Act. Review these requirements before installation.
The Fortress is a push-pull smart mortice lock and uses the Vault Fortress Innovative Mortice. Compatibility should be checked against the actual door preparation - see our guide to common hardware and backset selection mistakes.
The IP66 rating applies to the external (outside) module only. Correct installation and ongoing maintenance still matter, particularly in coastal Queensland environments where salt air accelerates wear.
Fortress is Bluetooth-first. For remote unlocking, notifications and voice control, add the Vault G5 Gateway. The dual-band G5 avoids the band-steering issue that affects single-band gateways - see Chapter 08 - Gateway Comparison.
Powered by 4 x AA batteries (6V; not included, per the manual), with a mechanical key backup for all power conditions. For charge and maintenance expectations, see our guide to smart lock battery life.
Fortress is better suited to households or properties needing several credential types (face, fingerprint, PIN, RFID, key and app) rather than single-user keypad access alone.
