(On Request)
The FORGE Double-Sided Automatic Smart Rim Lock (FEDSG200DBA) is a surface-mounted automatic rim lock for security doors and gates: a slim touch keypad with a fingerprint reader goes on the outside, and an inside rim lock with its own fingerprint reader and a key cylinder goes on the inside, latching into a keep on the frame.
It is a Wi-Fi lock on the Forge Smart (Tuya) app - Wi-Fi built in, no gateway - so remote unlock answers a request at the door. Little else is published for this model, so this page sets out what the drawing and images show and what we will confirm for you before you order.
For a double-sided rim lock with full published specifications, see the FORGE GY04 or the IP66 FORGE RD6. Made in China for FORGE, an Australian brand based in Ringwood, Victoria. Backed by a 2-year manufacturer warranty.
Usually ships in 24 hours.
Owned by FORGE Electrical (Australia) · Manufactured in China. Our independent FORGE brand profile sets out how the range compares with the other brands we stock.
Access Methods
Beyond its fingerprint reader and key, how the inside unit opens is not confirmed - ask us before relying on it for a quick exit.

Forge Smart (Tuya) App
The lock is set up in the Forge Smart (Tuya) app, for iOS and Android ![]()
. There is no manual for this model; its generic Tuya Wi-Fi pairing sheet shows the usual steps for its Wi-Fi locks - a 2.4 GHz network, pairing mode on the lock and 90 seconds to add it in the app.
Wi-Fi is built into the double-sided automatic rim lock, so there is no gateway to buy for remote access. Remote unlock works on request: a visitor presses the bell key on the outside keypad and you approve it in the app. Forge Smart (Tuya) locks do not unlock on demand from off-site, have no scheduled passage mode in the app and no Alexa or Google, and have no API. Online and offline passwords, entry records, notifications and Tuya automations work from the app - see the Forge Smart (Tuya) platform in Chapter 15.
Which platform suits you is set out in our TTLock vs Tuya comparison and which smart lock platform is right for you. For a rim lock on TTLock with a gateway, see the FORGE RD1T.

Installation
There are no published installation instructions for this lock. The outside keypad and the inside unit mount on the two faces of the door and are joined through it; the keep fixes to the frame so the latch lines up.
- Check both units sit flat on the door faces and the keep sits flat on the frame - the drawing shows their sizes.
- Line the latch up with the keep - misalignment is the usual cause of a latch that will not catch.
- Register an administrator as soon as it is powered up.
- Terry's offers installation across the Gold Coast.
Which way a door is handed is explained in how to tell which way your door or gate opens.
