Lockwood 3572DXKONCYL Digital DX Mechanical Keypad Mortice Lock with Key Override - 60mm Backset - No Cylinder
This is the same lock as the Lockwood 3572DXKO, but supplied without a key override cylinder. It exists for locksmiths and building managers who need to fit a cylinder from their own keying or master key system rather than use the standard supplied one.
If you are not sure whether you need this variant, you almost certainly need the 3572DXKO instead - it includes a cylinder ready to go. Contact us if you are not sure which one is right for your door.
Key Features
- Same mortice lock body and keypad as the 3572DXKO - the key override recess is present and fully functional; the cylinder is not included in the box
- For locksmiths and building managers pinning to an existing master key system or supplying their own C4 or restricted cylinder
- PIN code entry from outside; free lever handle exit from inside
- Synergy 3572 platform, 60mm backset, handed at order (left-hand or right-hand), not field-reversible
- No battery, no app, no connectivity - entirely mechanical operation
- Lockwood 25-year mechanical warranty
Decoding Lockwood Model Numbers
The model code 3572DXKONCYL breaks down as follows:
For the 89mm and 127mm backset equivalents with key override, see the KO variants table on the 3572DXKO page. The full model number decoder for the standard (no-KO) range is at #model-numbers on the 5572DX page.
Code Control
Codes are 4 to 6 digits. Entry is any-order - press your digits in any sequence, then press the hashtag to confirm. You do not need to remember which order you pressed them. The code change procedure requires removing the lock from the door and working at a bench, following the tumbler procedure from the DX Digital Service Manual. See our code change guide for Lockwood DX locks for a step-by-step walkthrough.
Unlike the standard 3572DX, this lock has a key override recess. If a code is forgotten or entered incorrectly too many times, the override cylinder (which you supply and fit) gives a secondary entry path - then the lock goes back to the bench for a re-code.
Access Methods
What's in the Box
- Lockwood 3572DXKONCYL mortice lock body with integrated keypad - handed as ordered
- Fixing screws and installation template
- No cylinder supplied - fit your own C4 oval or restricted cylinder to the key override recess
- No key supplied
If you need the lock with a cylinder included, order the 3572DXKO instead.
Parts & Components
Service Manual page 10 covers the Synergy 3572 Key Override exploded parts, listing orderable KOL/KOR SC (with cylinder) and NCYL (no cylinder) variants. Replacement keypads for the DX mortice and 002 deadlatch range:
- SPDX-50SC - DX Replacement Keypad (Mortice Lock & 002 Deadlatch)
- SPDX-20SC - DX External Replacement Keypad
Note: key override locksets use their own keypad and cylinder parts (Service Manual page 10). If you are ordering replacement parts for a standard 3572DX (without key override), confirm your lock variant before ordering.
Suitable Uses
- Sites with an existing master key system where the locksmith needs to fit a specific cylinder
- Building managers supplying restricted-key cylinders across multiple tenancies
- Replacement-body installs where the cylinder from the previous lock is being carried over
- Commercial doors - 60mm backset, timber or aluminium frames, 32 to 50mm door thickness
This variant is supplied without a cylinder. Unless you are a locksmith or building manager with a specific cylinder to fit, the 3572DXKO (with cylinder) is the correct choice. Contact us if you are not sure.
Handing and Ordering
This lock is handed at order and not field-reversible. Specify Left-Hand or Right-Hand when ordering. Handing is determined by the side of the hinges when you stand outside facing the door - hinges on the left means Left-Hand, hinges on the right means Right-Hand. See our door handing guide if you are unsure.
This lock is a special order, non-returnable item. Please confirm handing before ordering. Contact us if you would like to discuss your installation before placing an order.

Full Specifications
Dimensions
Dimensions are identical to the 3572DXKO. Refer to the DX Digital Service Manual page 10 for the exploded diagram and the drilling template for the 3572 KO platform.
Fire Doors and Egress
The 3572DX platform (including the KO and KONCYL variants) can be used on fire doors where the tested doorset schedule permits it, subject to the normal Lockwood fire-door conditions. There is no published FRL figure for this platform - suitability is confirmed by the approved doorset schedule for your specific door assembly. See Chapter 05 - Fire Door Smart Locks and the Fire Door Types & Certification blog for how doorset approvals work.
If installing on a fire door, confirm the cylinder you are fitting is part of the tested combination for that doorset schedule - this is a key-override-specific consideration that does not apply to the PIN-only 3572DX.
Frequently Asked Questions
The key override recess accepts a standard C4 oval cylinder, which is the most common cylinder format in Australian commercial locks. Restricted-key cylinders on the same form factor also fit. If you are pinning to a master key system, confirm the cylinder format with your locksmith before ordering.
Yes - the lock body, keypad, code operation and handing are identical. The only difference is the cylinder is not included in the box. The key override recess and all related mechanical components are present and functional.
Code changes require removing the lock from the door and rearranging the tumblers at a bench. It is the same procedure as the 3572DXKO. See our Lockwood DX code change guide for full steps.
No - this lock is handed at order and not field-reversible. You must specify Left-Hand or Right-Hand when ordering. If you order the wrong handing, the lock cannot be corrected on site and is non-returnable as a special order item.
You can, but it is intended for trade use. If you do not have a specific cylinder to supply, the 3572DXKO (cylinder included) is almost certainly the right lock for your application. Contact us to discuss.
Additional Information
- The KO and KONCYL variants use different keypad and cylinder parts to the standard 3572DX. See Service Manual page 10 to confirm you are ordering the right replacement components.
- For a site with multiple 3572DXKO units already keyed alike, this KONCYL variant lets you add another lock without disrupting the existing keying arrangement.
- This lock does not have a holdback function. For applications needing free passage (doors that should remain unlocked for a period), see the 530DXSC entrance set or the passage mode vs holdback guide.
- Corrosion exclusion: the Lockwood 25-year mechanical warranty excludes damage from corrosive environments. For coastal or marine applications consider the Carbine CDL7100SC-HD, which is rated to salt spray C7.
Warranty
