Igloohome Retrofit Lock - Bluetooth Smart Lock for Euro Cylinder Doors
The Igloohome Retrofit Lock converts an existing euro profile cylinder into a Bluetooth-controlled smart lock — without any drilling, external hardware changes, or modifications to the outside of the door. The device mounts on the interior face of the door, clipping over the existing cylinder's thumb-turn or key. A magnetic door sensor is included to detect door state and enable auto-lock the moment the door closes. The existing physical key continues to operate the cylinder from the outside, unchanged.
For Airbnb and short-stay hosting, the Retrofit Lock pairs with igloohome's algoPIN™ technology and Airbnb Connect to automate guest access entirely. When a booking is confirmed, a unique time-limited PIN code is generated automatically and emailed to the guest 1 to 48 hours before check-in — no key handover, no rekeying, and no action required from the host. The code expires automatically at checkout. Because algoPIN™ codes are validated on the lock itself, they function whether or not the property has an internet connection at check-in time. For PIN code entry from outside, the igloohome Keypad must be added separately — without it, guests use Bluetooth via the igloohome app or the existing physical key.
The Retrofit Lock is designed for indoor installation on doors with inward-opening swing. It is powered by 4 x AA alkaline batteries, which are included. The device is not rated for outdoor exposure and must be installed in a sheltered, internal location. Euro profile cylinder compatibility must be confirmed before ordering — the lock does not work with Australian oval cylinders, knob sets, or lever sets.
The Retrofit Lock is only compatible with euro profile cylinders. It will not work with Australian oval cylinders, standard deadbolts, knob sets, or lever sets. Euro profile cylinders are common on aluminium door systems and some multi-point lock sets, but are not the standard cylinder format in most Australian residential timber doors. The Retrofit Lock integrates with Airbnb via Airbnb Connect. Guest PIN codes are generated automatically at booking confirmation and emailed 1 to 48 hours before check-in — guests do not need an app. Each code expires automatically at checkout. algoPIN™ codes are validated on the lock itself, so a Wi-Fi outage at the property never affects guest entry. The Retrofit Lock is suited to residential entry doors and light commercial applications. It is designed for indoor-face installation on inward-opening doors only. It is not rated for outdoor exposure and must not be installed on the exterior face of any door or in any exposed outdoor position.

- Powered by 4 x AA alkaline batteries, included. Battery life is rated up to 12 months under normal use.
- igloohome recommends Duracell, Energizer, or Panasonic alkaline batteries for optimal performance. Do not use Heavy Duty, Eveready, GP, or rechargeable batteries.
- When the low battery alert activates, approximately 2 months of use remain depending on usage frequency. Replace batteries promptly when the alert appears.
- Low battery alert provided via audio and LED indicators before batteries are fully depleted.
- Mechanical key override: the existing euro cylinder key provides physical backup access from the exterior at all times. The thumbturn and multi-function button provide exit from the interior.

Remote Access & Wi-Fi (Optional — Wi-Fi Bridge Required)
The Retrofit Lock communicates via Bluetooth 5.0 and does not connect directly to Wi-Fi. Without the optional igloohome Wi-Fi Bridge (EB1) (sold separately), the lock operates as a standalone unit — Bluetooth access, algoPIN™ code generation, Airbnb Connect, and auto-lock all function without internet at the property. Adding the Wi-Fi Bridge (EB1) connects the lock to your property's 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network and enables remote unlock from anywhere via the igloohome app, real-time access notifications, and on-demand activity log retrieval. The bridge supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi only, so the network must present a 2.4GHz band during setup — see the band-steering note (Chapter 08) and how the igloohome Bridge compares to other gateways.

How does the Retrofit Lock work with Airbnb?
When connected to Airbnb via Airbnb Connect in the igloohome app, the lock automatically generates a unique PIN code for each confirmed booking and emails it to the guest 1 to 48 hours before check-in. The code is valid between the check-in and checkout times, and expires automatically — no action needed from the host. Because algoPIN™ validates codes on the lock itself, the system works without Wi-Fi at the property. For keyless PIN entry from outside, the igloohome Keypad must be paired with the Retrofit Lock. Without the Keypad, guests use Bluetooth via the igloohome app, or the existing physical key. Will the Retrofit Lock work with my door?
The lock requires a euro profile cylinder with a backset greater than 32mm, a minimum 4mm cylinder protrusion, with the cylinder located below the door handle. The door must open inward when you leave the house. Key dimensions must be: thickness less than 5mm, head width less than 39mm, head depth less than 33mm (use the included Retrofit Extender for depths 33-38mm). Does the Retrofit Lock include a keypad for PIN entry from outside?
No. The Retrofit Lock sits on the interior face of the door only — it has no exterior keypad. For PIN code entry from outside, the igloohome Keypad must be purchased separately and paired with the lock. Does the Retrofit Lock change the appearance of the door exterior?
No. The Retrofit Lock mounts entirely on the interior face of the door. There are no visible changes to the exterior — the existing handles, the cylinder, and the external appearance of the door remain exactly as they were. This makes it suitable for strata properties, rental agreements, and heritage buildings where exterior modifications are not permitted.
How does auto-lock work and what does the door sensor do?
The included magnetic door sensor is adhered to the door frame and detects when the door closes. When the door closes, the Retrofit Lock automatically extends the bolt to lock the door — no thumbturn action needed. The auto-lock delay is configurable or can be deactivated. Night Mode can be used to force locking at a set time each night, and Schedules can disable auto-lock during set daytime windows for easier access. Re-calibration every 9 months is recommended to maintain accurate auto-lock behaviour as the door mechanism ages.

A euro profile cylinder has a distinctive oval or elongated body when viewed from the face of the door, with a keyhole at one end and a thumb-turn at the other (for single-cylinder) or a key at both ends (for double-cylinder). The most common Australian residential cylinder format is the oval cylinder — which is round-bodied with a flat oval cam and is NOT compatible with this lock. Euro profile cylinders are standard on many aluminium door systems and European-origin multi-point lock sets. If unsure, photograph the interior face of your cylinder and contact Terry's for a compatibility check before ordering.
For Airbnb and short-stay hosting, Terry's typically installs the Retrofit Lock and igloohome Keypad together. The Retrofit Lock controls the deadbolt motor on the interior face; the Keypad mounts on the exterior door stile and provides keyless PIN entry for guests and residents. This combination delivers fully keyless access without any structural changes to the door, while retaining the existing key as a physical backup. With Airbnb Connect active, the workflow is: guest books → igloohome generates a unique algoPIN™ code for that booking window → code is emailed to the guest automatically 1 to 48 hours before check-in → guest enters the code on the Keypad (if fitted) or uses Bluetooth on their app → code expires at checkout. No host intervention at any step. The iglooconnect marketplace extends this to Hospitable, Uplisting, RemoteLock, Hosthub, SabeeApp, and Cloudbeds for hosts managing multiple properties through property management platforms.
Bluetooth unlock events are recorded in real-time and accessible remotely via the igloohome app at any time. PIN code activity (via the Keypad) is recorded on the lock and syncs to the app the next time the owner's phone connects to the lock via Bluetooth. How to Make a Claim
- Gather the required documents: your original invoice, a video clip clearly showing the defect, and proof of ownership.
- Contact Terry's Tradies Pty Ltd and its associated websites, trading names, and subsidiaries � your authorised igloohome reseller � using the Returns & Warranty page above. Warranty claims must be lodged from the country of original purchase.
- igloohome may conduct diagnostic tests to determine the nature and cause of the defect. Their assessment is final.
- If the claim is approved within the warranty period, igloohome will repair the product, replace it with the same or closest available product, or refund the amount paid � at igloohome's discretion. Repaired or replaced products continue to be covered for the remainder of the original warranty period.
- Any replaced or fully refunded product becomes the property of igloocompany and must be returned in accordance with their returns policy. Delete all personal data from the device before returning it.
Exclusions
This warranty does not cover, and will be voided by, any of the following:
- Damage from impact, shock, accident, fire, flood, earthquake, lightning or other acts of nature
- Exposure to sand, extreme temperatures or environmental conditions outside the product's specifications
- Battery corrosion or chemical corrosion
- Abuse, mishandling, improper installation, improper operation, or failure to follow igloohome's care and maintenance recommendations
- Use of incorrect electrical supply or voltage
- Damage caused by software, apps, accessories or peripheral equipment not supplied or approved by igloohome
- Unauthorised alteration, modification, adjustment or tampering
- Replacement of parts with components not supplied or approved by igloohome
- Missing accessories or external parts, unless reported within 3 calendar days of original retail purchase
- Cosmetic damage to the outer surface or finish (e.g. scratches, dents, stains)
- Deterioration due to normal wear and tear, including corrosion or rust
- Damage occurring during transit, delivery, packing, unpacking, or installation not carried out by an igloohome-authorised installer
- Non-failure problems such as reception/incompatibility issues, software updates, password resets, routine servicing, battery changes, cleaning or product demonstrations
- Software and consumable items, even if packaged or sold with the product
- Minor imperfections within design specifications that do not materially affect functionality
