Igloohome Deadbolt Go - Bluetooth Fingerprint Smart Deadbolt
The Igloohome Deadbolt Go is a Bluetooth fingerprint smart deadbolt designed for residential timber entry doors. It can be installed as a retrofit over an existing deadbolt preparation or as a new installation, and supports both 60mm and 70mm backsets. The lock auto-calibrates for left or right hand door installations during setup and does not require a handyman — only a Phillips screwdriver is needed. It is available in Satin Nickel (DBX1) and Matte Black (DBX2).
The Deadbolt Go is built around igloohome's algoPIN™ technology — the offline access system that has made igloohome a popular smart lock brand for Airbnb hosting in Australia. When a guest makes a booking, you generate a unique, time-limited PIN code in the igloohome app and send it by text, email, or directly through Airbnb. The lock validates that code on its own processor at check-in time, so no internet connection at the property is required and the code stops working automatically at checkout. There is no key handover, no rekeying between stays, and no risk of a guest being locked out because the property's Wi-Fi went down. The lock integrates with Airbnb and with property management platforms via the iglooconnect marketplace, so for hosts who automate through tools like Hospitable, Uplisting, or RemoteLock, code generation and delivery is handled without manual steps. The Deadbolt Go supports up to 250 active PIN codes and stores up to 20 fingerprints for keyless owner access. You can read more about how this works in our guide to algoPIN and offline access (Chapter 07).
The lock is powered by 4 x AA batteries (not included) and includes an emergency USB-C jumpstart port for access when batteries are depleted. A pre-installed CR2032 coin cell powers the on-board time clock independently for a minimum of 5 years. The Deadbolt Go is rated IP54 and tested to ANSI/BHMA A156.40 BB durability and finish criteria. igloohome advises installation in sheltered locations — the lock is not designed for exposure to direct rain or sustained wet weather.
The Deadbolt Go is tested to ANSI/BHMA A156.40 BB and is suited to residential entry doors and light commercial applications with moderate daily use. It is not intended for high-traffic commercial doors or fire-rated door assemblies.
The Deadbolt Go integrates with Airbnb via the igloohome app. Guest PIN codes are generated at booking confirmation and delivered without any manual steps — guests do not need to download an app. Each code expires at checkout automatically, with nothing required from the host. The lock validates codes entirely offline, so a Wi-Fi outage at the property never affects guest entry. Hosts managing multiple properties or using platforms like Hospitable, Uplisting, or RemoteLock can connect through the iglooconnect marketplace for automated access workflows. See our guide to how Airbnb Connect works (Chapter 07) and using igloohome for Airbnb in Australia.

Battery, Power & Backup Access
- Powered by 4 x AA alkaline batteries (not included). Battery life is rated up to 12 months under normal use.
- A CR2032 coin cell is pre-installed to power the on-board time clock for a minimum of 5 years. This battery operates independently from the AA batteries and does not need to be purchased separately.
- Low battery alert provided via audio and LED indicators before the AA batteries are fully depleted.
- USB-C emergency jumpstart port allows the lock to be temporarily powered from a phone or power bank when the AA batteries are flat — providing enough power to unlock the door while replacement batteries are obtained.
- Mechanical key override provides physical backup access at all times using the 4 provided owner keys.
Remote Access & Wi-Fi (Optional — Wi-Fi Bridge Required)
The Deadbolt Go does not connect directly to Wi-Fi. Without the optional igloohome Wi-Fi Bridge (EB1) (sold separately), the lock operates entirely as a standalone unit via fingerprint, PIN, Bluetooth, and mechanical key. algoPIN™ code generation and validation works offline — Wi-Fi is not required at the property to issue or accept PIN codes. Local access methods remain unaffected even when the internet is down; see what happens when the internet goes down (Chapter 08).
Adding the Wi-Fi Bridge (EB1) connects the lock to your property's 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network and enables remote unlock from anywhere via the igloohome app, real-time access notifications, on-demand activity log retrieval, and Alexa voice control integration. The bridge supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi only, so the network must present a 2.4GHz band during setup — see the band-steering note (Chapter 08) and how the igloohome Bridge compares to other gateways.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does the Deadbolt Go work with Airbnb?
The igloohome app connects to Airbnb via Airbnb Connect. Once linked, the app generates a unique PIN code for each new booking and delivers it to the guest — no manual steps and no key handover. The code is valid for the duration of the stay and stops working at checkout time. Because igloohome's algoPIN™ technology validates codes on the lock itself, the system works regardless of whether the property has a working internet connection at the time of check-in. Guests do not need to download any app to receive or use their code. For hosts using property management software, the iglooconnect marketplace integrates with platforms including Hospitable, Uplisting, RemoteLock, Hosthub, SabeeApp, and Cloudbeds. See our guide to using igloohome for Airbnb in Australia, or Chapter 07 — Smart Locks for Airbnb & Short-Stay Rentals in the buyer's guide.
Does the lock need Wi-Fi at the property to work?
No. The lock operates entirely offline — fingerprint, PIN, Bluetooth, and mechanical key access all function without any internet connection at the property. This is what makes igloohome particularly suited to short-stay properties: a guest's PIN code will work at check-in even if the NBN is down, the router has rebooted, or the property has no Wi-Fi at all. Wi-Fi is only required if you add the optional Wi-Fi Bridge (EB1) for remote unlock and real-time notifications. See our explanation of igloohome for Airbnb without Wi-Fi.
Will this lock fit my door?
The Deadbolt Go suits timber swing doors between 35mm and 45mm thick with a 60mm or 70mm backset. For a retrofit installation, the existing deadbolt is removed and the hole preparation must match one of these backsets. For a new installation, a drill template is included. The lock auto-calibrates for left or right hand door handing — see understanding door handing in Australia if you are unsure. If you are unsure of your door's backset, see Chapter 02 — Measuring Your Door before ordering. The lock is not suitable for aluminium, glass, or fire-rated door assemblies.
What happens if the batteries go flat between guest stays?
The lock gives audio and LED low battery warnings well before the AA batteries are fully depleted — giving you time to organise a battery change before the next guest arrives. If the batteries do go flat, the lock can be temporarily powered via a phone or power bank connected to the USB-C jumpstart port, providing enough power to unlock the door. The 4 provided mechanical keys also allow physical access at any time. For a short-stay property, checking the battery indicator in the app after each checkout is a sensible part of the turnaround routine.
Can I use the Deadbolt Go across multiple short-stay properties?
Yes. The igloohome app manages multiple locks from a single account, each with their own independent access code pools. You can view access logs, generate codes, and manage all properties from the same interface. For larger portfolios, the iglooconnect marketplace connects to property management platforms that handle code generation and guest communication automatically across all properties. See our guide on which Airbnb smart lock setup is right for you for a comparison of approaches.
Additional Information
IP54 confirms the lock has been tested for protection against dust ingress and water spray from any direction. However, igloohome advises the Deadbolt Go be installed in sheltered locations and not exposed to direct rain, sustained wet weather, or coastal salt spray — continuous exposure to wet weather may reduce product lifespan. It is not rated for fully exposed outdoor positions. If the entry door is not covered by a canopy or overhang, consider adding external weather protection before installation. For what IP ratings mean in practice, see Chapter 11 — Australian Standards & IP Ratings.
The Deadbolt Go supports a Decoy PIN Code feature, which allows random digits to be entered before or after the actual PIN code. The lock ignores the additional digits and processes only the correct sequence within the string. This prevents observers from identifying the real code by watching a user enter it or by inspecting wear patterns on the keypad.
Timber doors expand and contract with changes in temperature and humidity, particularly in Queensland conditions. The deadbolt must not be under pre-load from weather seals or door warpage at the time of installation. Check the deadbolt operation periodically with the door open and closed to confirm the bolt extends and retracts smoothly. If resistance develops after installation, adjust the strike plate position before it causes wear on the mechanism.
ANSI/BHMA A156.40 is the American National Standard for residential and light commercial Bluetooth-enabled access devices. igloohome states the Deadbolt Go has passed durability and finish testing to the BB grade criteria with a third-party laboratory. This is a performance and durability benchmark for Bluetooth smart locks; it is not an Australian Standards compliance mark and does not indicate fire door or accessibility certification. The Deadbolt Go does not hold AS1905.1 (fire door hardware) certification and is not suitable for installation on fire-rated door assemblies.
The Deadbolt Go runs on igloohome's own app platform, built around offline algoPIN™ access rather than a constant cloud connection. This is a different approach to TTLock-based locks, which depend on a gateway for remote features. For a side-by-side comparison of igloohome against other smart lock platforms, see Chapter 15 — Smart Lock App Platforms, or our blog on which app platform is right for you.
When the igloohome app is connected to Airbnb via Airbnb Connect, the workflow is: guest books → igloohome generates a unique algoPIN™ code for that booking window → code is delivered to the guest automatically → guest enters the code at check-in → code expires at checkout. No key exchange, no locksmith call between stays, no manual code management. The host never needs to be near the property. For hosts using property management software, the iglooconnect marketplace integrates with Hospitable, Uplisting, RemoteLock, Hosthub, SabeeApp, and Cloudbeds, among others. Because algoPIN™ validation happens on the lock's own processor, none of this depends on the property's internet connection being active at check-in time.
