Carbine CEL2-3IN1 Fire Rated Leverset with RFID and Key Override – Satin Nickel
The Carbine CEL2-3IN1-SL8SN-FRKIT is the dedicated fire door installation kit for the CEL2-3IN1 leverset, providing three access methods: touchscreen PIN code, RFID/NFC credential, and mechanical key override. It stores up to 100 combined user codes and RFID credentials in a shared pool, and is specifically packaged for certified installation on fire-rated door assemblies. No app, Bluetooth, gateway, or internet connection is required.
The leverset is designed to IP54 standards and is NCC compliant. It is certified for use on Firecore, E-Core, and Pyropanel fire-rated door systems. Fire rating certification documents are available as PDF downloads below. Always verify current certification status and confirm that all other fire door hardware is rated and compatible before installation. See: Buyers Guide Ch05: Fire Door Smart Locks · Fire door types and smart lock certification.
If Bluetooth app management is also required on a fire door, see the CEL2-BT-SL8SN-FRKIT. For non-fire door applications, see the standard CEL2-3IN1-SL8SNKIT. A Matte Black variant (CEL2-3IN1-SL8MB-FRKIT) is also available.
Firecore: FRT230184 DHAR2.0 (Warringtonfire) — Firecore TVC30 (37mm door) FRL -/60/30; Firecore TVC40 (47–48mm door) FRL up to -/120/30; valid to 20/12/2028.
E-Core and Pyropanel: See fire certification PDFs below for full certification details.
Confirm that all other hardware in the fire door assembly — hinges, door closer, intumescent seals, and strike — is also fire rated and compatible with the door system. See: Fire rating certificates · Apartment fire doors on the Gold Coast

Access Methods
Works on 13.56MHz Mifare NFC (ISO14443 Type A) — RFID cards, FOBs, wristbands, stickers, and most NFC-enabled Android phones. Australian Mifare transit cards (Go card, Opal, Myki, SmartRider, MyWay, metroCard) are compatible. Visa PayWave and Mastercard PayPass are NOT compatible (ISO14443 Type B). If your phone’s NFC chip is incompatible, a Mifare RFID sticker on the back of the phone is the recommended workaround. See: Carbine CEL RFID Application List (PDF) · Buyers Guide Ch03: Access Methods
Suitable Uses
- Firecore, E-Core, and Pyropanel fire-rated door assemblies in residential, strata, and commercial buildings requiring PIN and RFID access. See: Buyers Guide Ch05: Fire door core types
- Apartment and strata fire-rated entry doors with NCC lever compliance requirements. See: Apartment fire doors on the Gold Coast
- Emergency exits and fire escape corridors requiring certified hardware with RFID card access for residents and RFID override for management.
- Fire-rated doors where a simple standalone solution is preferred and Bluetooth app management is not required.
- Sites requiring RFID card handover for cleaners, contractors, or regular service personnel on a fire-rated entry door.

Frequently Asked Questions
Both models carry fire rating certifications, but this kit (the FRKIT) is specifically packaged for certified fire door installation. If you are installing on a certified fire-rated door assembly, specify this kit. For non-fire door applications, the standard CEL2-3IN1-SL8SNKIT is appropriate. See: Buyers Guide Ch05: Fire Door Smart Locks
No. This is a standalone model — PIN and RFID only. For Bluetooth app management on a fire-rated door, see the CEL2-BT-SL8SN-FRKIT. See: Buyers Guide Ch08: Gateway Comparison
The CEL2-3IN1 fire rated leverset is certified for Firecore door assemblies (FRT230184 DHAR2.0, Warringtonfire — TVC30 FRL -/60/30; TVC40 up to FRL -/120/30, valid 20/12/2028). E-Core and Pyropanel certification documents are also provided as PDF downloads below. Confirm all certs are current before specifying. See: Fire door types and smart lock certification
Most NFC-enabled Android phones with Mifare support work. Visa PayWave and Mastercard PayPass are not compatible. If incompatible, use a Mifare RFID sticker adhered to the back of the phone. See: Carbine CEL RFID Application List (PDF) · Buyers Guide Ch03: RFID access
No. Outside these ranges the lock is not compatible. See: Buyers Guide Ch02: Measuring Your Door · How to measure your backset
Additional Information
The lock certification covers the lockset only. All other hardware in the fire door assembly must also be rated and compatible — hinges, door closer, intumescent seals, and strike. Confirm the complete hardware schedule with your fire door supplier or certifier before ordering. Verify all fire rating certificates are current before installation. See: Fire door types and smart lock certification · Fire rating certificates · Apartment fire doors on the Gold Coast
Fire doors in older Gold Coast apartment buildings (pre-1990) may contain asbestos in the core or surrounding frame. Do not drill or cut without confirming the door material first. See: Asbestos in Gold Coast apartment fire doors
The connecting cable between the exterior and interior modules must be correctly seated in the mounting plate channel. Incorrect routing is the most common installation failure — it causes an unresponsive keypad or a battery cover that won’t seat correctly. Check cable routing first if the keypad stops responding after installation. See: 3 common DIY smart lock installation mistakes
The factory default programming code is 12345678. Change it to a private code immediately after installation. Issue separate user codes or RFID cards for day-to-day access; never share the programming code with tenants or users. See: The realities of electronic door locks
Terry’s Locksmiths offers supply and installation on the Gold Coast, including fire door assessments. See: Site survey and installation services. For self-installation: Buyers Guide Ch12: Installation & Troubleshooting
