The Carbine CEL2-3IN1-SL8MB-FRKIT is the dedicated fire door installation kit for the CEL2-3IN1 leverset, providing three access methods: touchscreen PIN code, RFID/NFC credential, and mechanical key override. It stores up to 100 combined user codes and RFID credentials in a shared pool, and is specifically packaged for certified installation on fire-rated door assemblies. No app, Bluetooth, gateway, or internet connection is required.
The leverset is designed to IP54 standards and is NCC compliant. It is certified for use on Firecore fire-rated door systems. The Firecore fire assessment report is available as a PDF download below. Access Methods
Works on 13.56MHz Mifare NFC (ISO14443 Type A) - RFID cards, FOBs, wristbands, stickers, and most NFC-enabled Android phones. Australian Mifare transit cards (Go card, Opal, Myki, SmartRider, MyWay, metroCard) are compatible. Visa PayWave and Mastercard PayPass are NOT compatible (ISO14443 Type B). If your phone's NFC chip is incompatible, a Mifare RFID sticker on the back of the phone is the recommended workaround. The connecting cable between the exterior and interior modules must be correctly seated in the mounting plate channel. Incorrect routing is the most common installation failure - it causes an unresponsive keypad or a battery cover that won't seat correctly. Fire Rating & Compliance
It is assessed for Firecore fire-rated doorsets under Warringtonfire report FRT230184 DHAR2.0: FRL -/60/30 in a 37mm TVC30 Firecore core door and up to FRL -/120/30 in 47-48mm TVC40 Firecore core doors, valid to 20/12/2028. Yes. The Warringtonfire assessment was run on the CEL2-3IN1-SL8SN lockset, and the fire performance comes from the lock body, latch and strike, not the finish. Matte Black and Satin Nickel share the same mechanism, so the finish does not change the fire rating.
Only the lockset is covered by this certification. Every other item in the fire door assembly - hinges, door closer, intumescent seals and strike - must also be fire rated and compatible with the door system and its FRL. Access, Codes & RFID
Up to 100 credentials in total, drawn from a single shared pool of PIN codes and RFID cards - so you might set 60 codes and 40 cards, or any mix up to 100. That is a big step up from the 25 codes plus 25 cards on the original CEL-3IN1. Codes are 4-8 digits, and single-use codes are also supported.
It reads 13.56MHz Mifare (ISO14443 Type A) media - cards, fobs, wristbands, stickers, and most NFC-enabled Android phones. Australian Mifare transit cards (Brisbane Go card, Sydney Opal, Victoria Myki, Perth SmartRider, Canberra MyWay, Adelaide metroCard) work. Visa payWave and Mastercard payPass do not (they are ISO14443 Type B). If your phone's NFC chip is not compatible, a Mifare RFID sticker on the back of the phone is the recommended workaround. Only original Carbine RFID cards are guaranteed. Other Mifare cards will often work, but if that card is later re-programmed in a different reader its settings can change and stop it operating the lock - so keep a dedicated card for the door rather than sharing one across systems.
It is a two-factor mode: when enabled, the door only opens when a valid RFID card and a PIN code are both presented, not either one alone. It is useful on higher-security fire-rated entries where a lost card on its own should not grant entry.

Power & Batteries
Four AA alkaline batteries (Duracell Procell recommended and supplied in the kit), giving roughly 5,000 openings. A low-battery warning sounds and shows on the keypad before they go flat. Do not use lithium or rechargeable AA batteries. See: How long do digital door locks last?
The mechanical key override always works, independent of the electronics - which is exactly why a key cylinder is critical on a fire door: loss of electronic power must never prevent egress or entry. A C4 keyway cylinder and two keys are included.
Fit & Installation
It suits doors 35-51mm thick with an adjustable 60-70mm backset and a standard 54mm cylindrical lockset bore. A 127mm backset is not supported. Measure before ordering - outside these ranges the lock will not fit. See: Ch02: Backset · How to measure your backset
Check the cable routing. The connecting cable between the exterior and interior modules must sit correctly in the mounting-plate channel; a pinched or mis-seated cable is the most common cause of an unresponsive keypad or a battery cover that will not close. See: 3 common DIY installation mistakes
Yes. Change the factory programming code (12345678) to a private code immediately after installation, then issue separate user codes or RFID cards for day-to-day access. If you ever need to start again, a factory reset (remove one battery, hold SET while refitting it) restores the programming code to 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8. See: The realities of electronic door locks
Passage (free-entry) mode holds the latch open for busy periods - after unlocking, hold the [#] key for one second to toggle it on. Auto-lock re-secures the door automatically after a set delay, adjustable from 5 to 99 seconds; it is disabled by default and must be turned on.
Choosing the Right Model
Both use the same lock mechanism. This FRKIT is packaged for certified fire door installation and ships with the fire certification documentation. For non-fire doors, the standard CEL2-3IN1-SL8MBKIT is the right choice.

How to Make a Claim
- Contact Terry's Tradies Pty Ltd (the place of purchase) in writing as soon as the defect becomes apparent - and no later than 14 days after the end of the applicable warranty period.
- Include in your written claim: a description of the defect, the date of supply, your contact details, and satisfactory proof of purchase.
- Do not return the product until a return authorisation number has been issued by Davcor. If return is required, the product must be in its original, complete, and saleable packaging.
- Davcor will test and assess the product. No claim is valid unless Davcor has confirmed a defect is present.
- Once a valid claim is confirmed, Davcor will - at its discretion - repair the defect, replace the product, or supply an equivalent product. If repair or replacement cannot be completed within a reasonable time, you may request a full refund, provided the product has been returned.
Delivery inspection: If you believe a product is defective or incorrectly supplied at the time of delivery, telephone notice must be given within 72 hours of receipt, with written notice (including full particulars) within 14 days of the invoice date.
Exclusions
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure, and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.
