It stores up to 100 combined codes and RFID credentials in a shared pool, with no hub, gateway, or internet connection required.
The CEL2-3IN1 leverset is the second generation of the original CEL-3IN1, featuring a new lower-profile escutcheon and improved touchscreen and motor. Credential capacity has increased from 25 PIN codes + 25 RFID cards to 100 combined. The leverset is designed to IP54 standards and carries an NCC compliant SL8 lever. Access Methods
This is a standalone (offline) leverset. If you need Bluetooth app management, the CEL2-BT-SL8SNKIT adds PIN + RFID + Bluetooth + key via the Carbine Connect app.
Works on 13.56MHz Mifare NFC (ISO14443 Type A) - RFID cards, FOBs, wristbands, stickers, and most NFC-enabled Android phones. Australian Mifare transit cards (Go card, Opal, Myki, SmartRider, MyWay, metroCard) are compatible. Visa PayWave and Mastercard PayPass are NOT compatible (ISO14443 Type B). If your phone’s NFC chip is incompatible, a Mifare RFID sticker on the back of the phone is the recommended workaround. This model (CEL2-3IN1-SL8SNKIT) is the standalone version - no app or Bluetooth, simpler setup, same physical format. Most NFC-enabled Android phones with Mifare support work. Verify your phone’s NFC chip compatibility before installation. Visa PayWave and Mastercard PayPass are not compatible. Passage mode keeps the latch retracted so the door swings freely without a code. To activate: enter a valid code, then immediately hold [#] for 1 second. To deactivate: wake the screen and hold [#] again. Useful for open hours or busy entry periods. See: Buyers Guide Ch04: Door Types

Additional Information
The connecting cable between the exterior and interior modules must be seated correctly in the designated channel of the mounting plate. Incorrect routing is the most common installation error - a pinched cable causes an unresponsive keypad, a battery cover that won’t close, or the Set button being held down permanently. If the keypad stops responding after the battery cover is installed, check cable routing first. See: 3 common DIY smart lock installation mistakes
The factory default programming code is 12345678. It can both unlock the door and access programming mode. Change it to a private code immediately after installation. Issue separate user codes or RFID cards for day-to-day access; never share the programming code with tenants or users. See: The realities of electronic door locks
The CEL2-3IN1 uses a new lower-profile escutcheon. Screw hole positions differ from the original CEL-3IN1, so existing fixing holes may not align. CEL2 retrofit plates (CEL2-L-RP-SS or CEL2-L-RP-MB, 88×195mm) are available to cover old screw holes on both faces of the door. Confirm fitment with the retrofit plate spec sheet before ordering.
Confirm all hardware in the fire door assembly - including hinges, closers, seals, and strike - is compatible and rated. The CEL2-3IN1-SL8SN-FRKIT is the dedicated fire door kit; this standard kit is also Firecore-certified but the FR kit includes specific hardware for fire door compliance. Access, Credentials & Capacity
Up to 100 credentials in total, shared between PIN codes and RFID cards in one pool - so, for example, 60 PIN codes and 40 cards, or any split up to 100. This is a big step up from the original CEL-3IN1 (25 PIN + 25 RFID). PIN codes are 4-8 digits.
Any 13.56MHz Mifare (ISO14443 Type A) credential - Carbine’s own cards, FOBs, stickers, wristbands and ultra FOBs, plus many Australian Mifare transit cards. Contactless bank cards (PayWave / PayPass, Type B) will not work. Browse spare RFID credentials.
Yes. A C4 keyway cylinder is included and two mechanical keys are supplied, so the door can always be opened by key regardless of battery state. See the Access Methods table.
Guiding code lets you enter random digits before or after your real PIN to disguise it from anyone watching - useful in shared entries. Double authorisation requires both a valid RFID card and a valid PIN together before the lock opens, for higher-security doors.
Locking, Passage & Modes
Yes - passage mode holds the latch retracted so the door opens without a code. Enter a valid code then hold [#] for one second to switch it on; hold [#] again to return to normal locking. Handy for shopfront hours or busy periods.
It can. Auto-lock is adjustable from 5 to 99 seconds but is disabled by default - you enable it in programming. Vacation mode temporarily disables every user code (handy when a property is empty) without deleting them.
Fire Doors & Compliance
This standard kit carries the same Firecore certification (FRT230184 DHAR2.0 - TVC30 -/60/30; TVC40 up to -/120/30). The dedicated CEL2-3IN1-SL8SN-FRKIT is packaged and documented specifically for certified fire-door installs and includes the fire-door hardware. Yes - the SL8 lever is NCC compliant, which is why the CEL2-3IN1 is commonly specified on strata and apartment entry doors. Check your door type against Buyers Guide Ch04.
Fit, Doors & Installation
It suits doors 35-51mm thick with a 54mm bore hole and a 60-70mm adjustable backset (127mm is not supported). Measure before ordering - see Buyers Guide Ch02 and how to measure your backset.
Almost always a pinched connecting cable. The cable between the outside and inside modules must sit in its channel on the mounting plate; if it is trapped, the keypad stops responding, the battery cover won’t seat, or the Set button reads as held down. Re-route the cable first. See 3 common DIY installation mistakes.
Not exactly - the CEL2 escutcheon is a different, lower profile, so the screw positions differ. CEL2 retrofit plates (CEL2-L-RP-SS / CEL2-L-RP-MB, 88×195mm) cover the old screw holes on both faces.
Power & Batteries

How to Make a Claim
- Contact Terry's Tradies Pty Ltd (the place of purchase) in writing as soon as the defect becomes apparent - and no later than 14 days after the end of the applicable warranty period.
- Include in your written claim: a description of the defect, the date of supply, your contact details, and satisfactory proof of purchase.
- Do not return the product until a return authorisation number has been issued by Davcor. If return is required, the product must be in its original, complete, and saleable packaging.
- Davcor will test and assess the product. No claim is valid unless Davcor has confirmed a defect is present.
- Once a valid claim is confirmed, Davcor will - at its discretion - repair the defect, replace the product, or supply an equivalent product. If repair or replacement cannot be completed within a reasonable time, you may request a full refund, provided the product has been returned.
Delivery inspection: If you believe a product is defective or incorrectly supplied at the time of delivery, telephone notice must be given within 72 hours of receipt, with written notice (including full particulars) within 14 days of the invoice date.
Exclusions
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure, and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
