Borg Digital Lock Spindle - 100 mm Stainless Steel - Suits Borg 2600 Marine Grade Series

The Borg 2600 Series spindle is the drive spindle for the Borg 2600 marine-grade mechanical digital locks. It is a 100 mm flat bar spindle that turns the follower between the outside keypad and the inside handle.

It is made from stainless steel so it resists corrosion, which is why it is specified for marine and coastal sites. Supplied as a single spindle, with no keypad or handle.

Key Features

  • Flat bar drive spindle for the Borg 2600 marine-grade series.
  • Stainless steel construction for corrosion resistance.
  • 100 mm length to suit the 2600 Series keypad and handle set.
  • Supplied as an individual spindle component.
  • Direct replacement for a worn or corroded spindle.

Compatibility - What This Fits

This spindle drives the Borg 2600 marine-grade knob and lever locks, including BL2600MGBC, BL2601MGPRO, BL2601MGPROECP, BL2620MGBC and BL2621MGPROECP. It is the stainless equivalent of the standard 2000 Series spindle and the long 2000 Series spindle, chosen where salt air would corrode a plain steel spindle. The matching 2600 Series keypad cover is the other common 2600 service part.

For why the marine-grade range exists, see MG Pro and ECP explained, or Chapter 16, Mechanical Digital Locks for the wider range.

What's in the Box

  • 1 x Borg stainless steel flat bar drive spindle (100 mm)

Suitable Uses

Use this spindle when installing or servicing a Borg 2600 marine-grade digital lock in a coastal or high-humidity location, or to replace a spindle that has begun to corrode. It is one of the Borg lock spare parts we keep for the marine range.

Coastal
Stainless steel is specified here for salt-air and coastal exposure. On a plain steel spindle, corrosion is the usual reason a marine-grade lock starts to feel stiff or bind.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why stainless steel for this spindle?
The 2600 range is Borg's marine-grade series, built for salt air and coastal exposure. A stainless spindle resists the corrosion that would seize a plain steel one over time.
Will it fit a standard 2000 Series lock?
It is made for the 2600 marine-grade series. For a standard 2000 Series lock, use the standard or long 2000 Series spindle instead.
Is anything else included?
No - it is the spindle only. The 2600 Series keypad cover is the other common 2600 service part.

Additional Information

In a genuine beachfront or splash-zone location, rinse the external hardware with fresh water periodically - it materially extends the life of any marine-grade lock and its spindle.
The 2600 spindle is longer than the standard 2000 spindle to suit the marine-grade keypad and handle set - do not substitute a shorter plain-steel spindle in a coastal install.
For where this part sits in the wider range, see Chapter 16, Mechanical Digital Locks in the Buyer's Guide, and Chapter 02, Measuring Your Door for getting the backset and door thickness right.
