Borg BL5701KSCECP Mechanical Digital Lever Keypad - Easicode Pro with Key Override - Keypad Only - Satin Chrome
The BL5701KSCECP is Borg's Easicode Pro lever keypad with built-in key override, sold as a standalone outside-keypad unit. It occupies the top of the Borg 5000-series mechanical digital range - combining on-door code changing with a Silca YA5 6-pin key override cylinder in a single unit. That pairing matters in managed sites: code entry handles routine access while the key override gives a permanent bypass route for supervisors, emergency services, or situations where the code has been forgotten.
The lever clutches - it free-spins until the correct code engages it for one operation. This means force on the handle achieves nothing regardless of how hard someone pulls. On the inside, the lever is always free so occupants can exit at any time without entering a code. This product is keypad only: it is designed to replace the outer keypad assembly on an existing BL5701 lever lockset, or to fit a new 5000-series latch body. No internal handle or latch is included.
Usually same day if ordered before 11am AEST (excluding weekends and Qld public holidays)
This listing covers the external keypad assembly only - the numbered buttons, clutching lever, and key override cylinder. No latch body, no internal handle, and no adaptor kit are included. If you need the complete BL5701 lever lockset (outside keypad + inside lever + latch, pre-assembled), see the Borg BL5701 Lever with Built-In Key Override. For a back-to-back configuration with key override on both faces, see the BL5771MGPROECP Back-to-Back Marine Grade.
The code can be changed while the keypad is installed on the door - no disassembly, no tumblers to reposition at a workbench. The Easicode Pro procedure uses the dedicated blue ECP change key (sold separately as BL5000ECPCK) and takes around one minute. A block pin is supplied to permanently disable external code changing if needed.
A Silca YA5 6-pin key override cylinder is supplied as standard. Insert the key and operate the lever at any time, regardless of whether the correct code is known. This makes the BL5701KSCECP the only keypad in the Borg 5000 range that offers both on-door ECP code changing and a mechanical keyed bypass in one unit. The YA5 profile can be keyed alike to site master key systems - contact your locksmith.
The block pin supplied in the box can be inserted into the keypad to permanently disable external code changing. Once fitted, the code can no longer be altered from outside the door - regardless of whether someone has the ECP change key. Useful for publicly accessible keypads in shared facilities, where preventing unauthorised code changes is a priority.
The BL5701 keypad is well-suited to offices, storerooms, internal amenities, and similar doors that see regular but not constant use. Easicode Pro makes periodic code rotation straightforward without a locksmith visit.
For heavily used commercial doors - main entry, high-cycle access control, hospital corridors - a heavy-duty-rated product is needed. Consider: Lockwood 3572DX · Borg BL7701 Heavy Duty · Carbine CDL7200LL-HD.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. The Easicode Pro module allows on-door code changing using the blue ECP change key (sold separately as BL5000ECPCK). The 5000-series ECP code change procedure uses the rotate-and-hold method via the ɸ button and takes around 60 seconds - no disassembly, no tumblers to handle at a workbench. See the BL5000 ECP Instruction Segments V2 for the full procedure.
The BL5701KSCECP fits Borg's 5000-series latch system - principally the BLL5000 60 mm latch and the BLL500070 70 mm latch. It is also the direct replacement for the outside keypad unit on the BL5701 complete lever lockset. It is NOT compatible with the Borg 2000-series or 4000-series latch formats, which use a different spindle and keypad housing.
The included Silca YA5 key override cylinder provides a permanent mechanical bypass - insert the key and operate the lever regardless of the code. This eliminates any lockout scenario caused by a forgotten or botched code, which is one of the primary reasons to choose the BL5701KSCECP over a code-only keypad. If a lost code needs to be recovered without a key, the Easicode Pro manual describes a 10-porthole code-reading method on the chamber - contact us for guidance.
Yes. The passage function (activated by pressing F before entering the code) holds the latch retracted for hands-free access. To permanently disable it, insert the supplied block plug into the F-port. Once fitted, the F button no longer activates passage mode. This is recommended for any application where continuous free passage would be a security concern - for example publicly accessible doors or anywhere staff should always enter a code.
No. The BL5701KSCECP carries no IP weather rating and is not designed for exposure to rain, humidity, or coastal salt air. For external-grade applications, consider the BL5000KMG External Grade ECP keypad. For marine-grade back-to-back installations with key override, see the BL5771MGPROECP Marine Grade. The MG Pro & ECP Explained blog covers how to pick the right grade for your environment.
Additional Information
The lever free-spins in both directions until the correct code has been entered. Once the code is accepted, the lever engages the spindle for one single operation - it retracts the latch, then returns to free-spinning. This means that force on the lever handle, regardless of intensity, cannot retract the latch without the correct code. It also means that if someone enters a code and then doesn't immediately push the door, the lever returns to free-spinning - they'll need to enter the code again.
The Easicode Pro chamber on this keypad supports over 1,000 unique codes. Codes are formed by selecting which buttons are active (each digit used once, no repeats), not by the order they are pressed - so digits can be entered in any sequence once the code is set. This is a defining characteristic of mechanical digital locks and means the keypad has no order-dependency that can be inferred from worn buttons.
This keypad suits doors 35-54 mm thick using the standard spindle. For doors thicker than 54 mm, check with us before ordering - a longer spindle or adaptor may be available, but this is not confirmed for the BL5701 key-override configuration. Always measure the door at the lock bore, not at the edge, as door thickness can vary.
The satin chrome finish on the BL5701KSCECP is not rated for outdoor weather exposure. Unlike the BL5701 variants in MG Pro 2 black marine-grade finish (see the MG Pro & ECP Explained blog for the grade comparison), the satin chrome model is intended for sheltered internal locations only.

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.
