Borg Mech-Digital BL5401DDAECP *Keypad Only* AS1428.1 Compliant Flat Bar Lever – Satin Stainless – Easicode Pro

Spare part icon
Keypad Only – Not a Complete Lock
This product is supplied as a keypad unit only. It does not include a latch, inside handle, strike plate, spindle, or fixing screws. It is designed for replacing a worn or damaged outside keypad on an existing BL5401 installation, or for custom installations where the inside hardware and latch are sourced separately. For the complete lock, see the BL5401SSDDAECP complete DDA ECP lockset. Read why genuine keypad-only spares beat hardware-store imitations. Refer to the drilling template PDF for hole placement.

The Borg BL5401 DDA ECP Keypad Only (BL5401KSSDDAECP) is a replacement outside keypad unit with DDA compliant flat bar lever, Easicode Pro on-door code change, in satin stainless finish. It uses the same BL5401 DDA lever and ECP code change mechanism as the complete lock version, and sits in the Borg mechanical digital lock range.

This product is a spare part and replacement unit. If you need a complete lock including inside handle, latch, and all fixings, see the complete lock BL5401SSDDAECP (ECP satin stainless) or BL5401DDAMGPROECP (ECP Marine Grade Pro black).

FAQ icon Frequently Asked Questions

What does this product include?

The BL5401KSSDDAECP includes the outside keypad unit only – with DDA flat bar lever and Easicode Pro code change key. It does not include a latch, inside handle, spindle, strike plate, or fixing screws. All of these must be sourced separately or reused from the existing installation being replaced. For the complete lock, see the BL5401SSDDAECP complete DDA ECP lockset.

What is the DDA lever and what makes it different from a standard lever?

The BL5401 uses a flat bar lever compliant with BCA AS1428.1-2009 (Design for Access and Mobility). This lever requires significantly less grip force and torque than a round bar lever, making it suitable for users with limited hand strength or dexterity. It is the correct lever type for disability access doors, accessible toilet facilities, and any application where BCA accessibility compliance is required for the locking hardware. See our commercial mech-digi DDA options. Lever compliance relates to the handle design only and does not imply full building access compliance for the installation.

How do I change the PIN code on the ECP model?

With the door open, enter the current code. Insert the code change key over the Φ button, rotate it 90° clockwise, then press and hold fully. Press C to clear, enter the new code digits, press all digits again to confirm, then release and remove the key. Press C or rotate the lever to finalise. Test at least 5 times before closing the door. See the full 5000-series ECP procedure. The code is non-sequential — if set to 1234, entering 4321 or any order will open the lock (a defining trait of mechanical digital locks).

What is this product compatible with?

This keypad unit is compatible with the BL5401 series lock body configuration. The 8mm square drive spindle suits most leading brands of tubular latch and mortice lock case. Always confirm spindle length and compatibility with your specific lock body before ordering. Refer to the drilling template PDF (in the PDF Downloads section) for correct hole placement.

Can I reverse the handing on site?

Yes. All BL5401 units are factory set for right-hand doors. To change: remove the rubber grommet at the base of the keypad handle, use the included hex wrench to remove the grub screw, rotate the handle 180° and refit. Repeat for the inside handle. Handing is determined from the outside of the door: right hand = hinges on the right; left hand = hinges on the left, regardless of swing direction.
