Lockton Scar Plates - To Suit Cadell52 Locksets (Stainless / Black, Multiple Sizes, Pack of 1)
The Lockton PS-REC-52 Series are precision-cut scar plates designed to conceal existing lock preparation holes, paint lines, or surface damage left by previous hardware when installing a Lockton Cadell52 Fire Rated Smart Lock. Each plate features a central rectangular cut-out (117 x 24mm) that allows the Cadell52 lever lock to mount cleanly through the plate while maintaining correct operation and alignment.
Three external plate sizes are available - 280 x 70mm, 286 x 76mm, and 296 x 86mm - in either Satin Stainless Steel or Powder-Coated Black, giving six variants in total. All sizes share the same internal cut-out geometry, so size selection is based on the coverage area required over the existing door preparation. Each pack contains one plate.
These plates are suitable for fire-door retrofit and new-works installations and are manufactured from 1.5mm 304 stainless steel. They are purpose-built for the Cadell52 and are not interchangeable with the PS-REC-36 scar plate series for the ELEV36, which uses a different cut-out and external geometry. For a full overview of scar plates across all brands stocked by Terry's, see the brand-by-brand scar plate guide.

Frequently Asked Questions
Select the smallest size that fully covers your existing preparation area with adequate margin. All three sizes share the same internal cut-out, so the only functional difference is external coverage. The scar plate size guide explains how to measure and make this decision. When uncertain, order the larger size - overshooting is always better than undershooting coverage.
Yes - the PS-REC-52 series is fire-door compatible. However, it is important that the complete installation meets the requirements of AS1905.1 fire door hardware certification. Always consult a licensed locksmith before drilling or modifying any fire door. On older doors, asbestos risk must be assessed before any work begins.
One plate per pack. A mortice lock installation typically requires one plate per door face. Order two packs if you need plates on both faces. Note that the Cadell52 is a single-sided electronic lever - the exterior face carries the active handle and the interior is typically a passive lever or turn - so confirm your specific installation before ordering multiple packs.
Yes. The scar plate sits on the door face over the lock body and is not mortice-depth-dependent. It suits both the Cadell52 with 60mm mortice and the Cadell52 with 95mm mortice. Mortice case depth affects door preparation depth, not the plate's face geometry.
The PS-REC-36 series for the ELEV36 is 377 x 70mm with a different internal cut-out - it is a long, narrow plate spanning much of the door height to suit the ELEV36's extended handle panel. The PS-REC-52 is a smaller, squarer plate (280-296mm tall) to suit the Cadell52's compact lever format. The two series are not interchangeable under any circumstances.
Additional Information
A scar plate (sometimes called a cover plate or renovation plate) sits on the door face behind the lock escutcheon to conceal surface damage, legacy cut-outs, or paint boundaries left by a previous lock. On smart lock retrofits, where an older mechanical lock may have left a larger or differently shaped preparation than the new lock covers, a scar plate avoids the need for filling, repainting, or door replacement. The scar plate guide has a full explanation of when they are and are not needed.
The Cadell52 is available in Satin Stainless Steel and Black finishes. Match the PS-REC-52 finish to your installed Cadell52 for a consistent result. For the ELEV36 family, use the PS-REC-36-SS or PS-REC-36-BLK instead. Other brands' scar plates - including the ADI scar plates for the Lockwood Cortex 530 and the ASSA ABLOY Aperio E100 scar plate - are covered in the brand-by-brand scar plate guide.
The Cadell52 is fire-rated and these scar plates are fire-door compatible - but fire-door modifications carry strict obligations. The Fire Door Smart Locks guide (Chapter 05) explains which fire-door core types exist and what certification is required. The Apartment Fire Doors compliance guide explains why DIY is not appropriate on fire-rated doors. Terry's Locksmiths performs fire-door smart lock installations on the Gold Coast and can advise on the correct product combination.

How to Make a Claim
Lockton products are sold exclusively through trade channels. End-users who have received a Lockton product via an installer or trade supplier should contact their installer in the first instance — the trade supplier will liaise with Lockton Security to process the claim on your behalf.
To lodge a warranty claim through Terry’s Tradies Pty Ltd and its associated websites, trading names, and subsidiaries (including Gold Coast Smart Locks), please follow these steps:

- Supply your proof of purchase (invoice number or receipt).
- Provide contact details for claim updates.
- A Goods Return Number (GRN) will be obtained from Lockton Security on your behalf.
- Package the product securely, include the GRN, and return it as directed. Products returned without a GRN may not be accepted.
Once a correctly submitted claim is assessed by Lockton Security and approved, they will at their own cost and discretion either: repair and return the product; provide a replacement or similar product; supply refurbished goods of equivalent type and quality (covered under the remaining warranty period); or refund the purchase price. If the claim is not approved, Lockton Security will advise in writing and the product will be returned at the customer’s expense, or recycled upon request.
