Lockton Cadell52 Fire Rated Smart Lock - 95mm Mortice
The Lockton Cadell52 is a heavy-duty electronic lever lock system from Lockton's E-Series range. This complete kit pairs the Cadell52 smart lock handle set with the SG-ML95 95mm backset mortice lock, providing a ready-to-install solution for commercial and residential doors. The Cadell52 is certified to AS 4145.2 (locksets) and AS 1905.1:2015 (fire door hardware), achieving a physical security rating of SL8 and a durability rating of D8 (500,000 cycles) - making it suited for high-traffic commercial installations including apartment blocks, schools, offices, hospitals and private residences.
Six access methods are supported out of the box: fingerprint biometrics, PIN code, RFID key fob, Bluetooth via the TTLock App (iOS and Android), mechanical key override via a 6-pin C4 rekeyable oval cylinder, and Wi-Fi remote access when paired with an optional TTLock gateway. The TTLock app supports unlimited Bluetooth users, unlimited customised PIN codes, up to 1,000 RFID fobs, and up to 100 fingerprint users. All six access methods are fully functional without a gateway; an optional gateway (G2-G5) adds remote unlock and access management from anywhere in the world. Not sure if you need a gateway? See our Gateway Comparison guide.
The Cadell52 is designed to retrofit over most standard Australian mortice furniture installations, with fixing posts positioned to match standard post spacing. It can replace most existing knobsets, leversets, and deadbolt combinations. Scar plates in three sizes are available separately to cover legacy fixing holes. Available in Matte Black and Satin Stainless Steel. For the 60mm backset variant, see the Cadell52 ML60 kit.
The Cadell52 kit (with SG-ML95 mortice) has been tested and certified by an independent third-party accredited testing laboratory. Fire ratings: Firecore (AU), E-Core (AU), and Hallmark (NZ) - all up to 2 hours. Tested and declared by SIEPER Group. Use on fire doors only with all other hardware in the assembly also fire rated and certified for the specific door system. The 95mm mortice variant carries the broadest fire certification in the Cadell52 range - covering Firecore, E-Core and Hallmark, while the ML60 is Firecore-only.
Disability Access Compliance (DDA)
- The Cadell52 lever handle design complies with the disability access requirements of AS1428.1-2009 (DDA) (Design for access and mobility).
- The clutching lever handle assists users with limited grip strength or reduced manual dexterity.
- DDA compliance relates to the lever handle design only and does not imply full building access compliance for the complete installation. Read: Smart Locks for NDIS, DDA & Accessibility
Per the manufacturer's specification and confirmed by distributor SIEPER Group, the Cadell52 carries an IP66 rating on both the external (outside) and internal (inside) handles. IP66 confirms protection against powerful water jets and complete dust ingress protection. This makes the lock suitable for wet or exposed environments - and is a significant advantage where most competitors rate only the external keypad.

Battery and Power
- Powered by 4 x AAA alkaline batteries, included in the kit.
- Battery life is approximately 1 year at 10-20 uses per day under normal conditions. How long do digital door locks last?
- The TTLock App displays the current battery level when Bluetooth is active, providing advance warning before depletion.
- Audio and LED indicators provide low battery alerts directly on the lock.
- There is no USB-C emergency power port on this model. If batteries are fully depleted, access is via the mechanical key override using the supplied C4 oval cylinder and key.
App Control and Remote Access (Optional Gateway)
The Cadell52 connects to the TTLock App (iOS and Android) via Bluetooth. Within Bluetooth range, the app can unlock the door, manage user credentials, issue temporary PIN codes, and configure lock settings. No gateway is required for any of these functions.
For remote access from anywhere in the world - including remote unlock, access scheduling, and access history review - an optional TTLock gateway must be connected to your internet router. Five gateway models are available depending on your connectivity requirements. Compare all gateway models in detail or read our Gateway Comparison guide:
- G2-GATE - WiFi 2.4GHz gateway (most common residential choice)
- G3-GATE - Ethernet (RJ45) gateway
- G3P-GATE - Power over Ethernet (PoE) gateway
- G4-GATE - 4G SIM gateway (no fixed internet required)
- G5-GATE - Dual-band WiFi 2.4GHz / 5GHz gateway
All gateways are sold separately. Gateway Bluetooth range to lock: 10-15 metres.

Frequently Asked Questions
No. All six access methods - fingerprint, PIN code, RFID fob, Bluetooth/TTLock App, key override, and the built-in lock functions - work without a gateway. A TTLock gateway (G2-G5, sold separately) is required only if you want to unlock remotely via the internet, schedule time-limited access, or review access history from outside Bluetooth range. Read our full Gateway Comparison guide.
Yes - for Firecore (AU), E-Core (AU), and Hallmark (NZ) fire door assemblies up to 2 hours. The CADELL52-BLK-ML95 and CADELL52-SSS-ML95 kits have been tested and certified by an independent accredited laboratory to AS 4145.2 and AS 1905.1:2015. When specifying for fire doors, confirm that all other hardware in the assembly - hinges, seals, closers - is also fire rated and certified for the specific door system. For Firecore-only at 60mm backset, see the Cadell52 ML60 kit.
In most cases, yes. The Cadell52 fixing posts are positioned at standard Australian mortice furniture post spacing, so it will drop over most existing commercial mortice furniture installations. If your existing lock leaves larger or off-centre holes, scar plates in three sizes (Art IDs: PS-REC-52-1, PS-REC-52-2, PS-REC-52-3) are available separately to cover legacy fixings cleanly. See also the scar plate guide for guidance on when one is needed.
The 50mm oval cylinder (Art. 410/50-BLK-KD) supplied in the kit is correct for door thicknesses of 32mm to 64mm. How to measure your backset. For doors 64mm to 90mm thick, order the 62mm oval cylinder (Art. 410/62-BLK-KD) separately. Do not use a cylinder that is too short for the door thickness, as this will prevent the key from correctly actuating the mortice lock cam.
Yes. The inside handle comes pre-configured with a flush stainless steel insert for passage function (free egress at all times). The included turn snib kit allows the inside handle to be converted to a turn snib, enabling the inside handle to lock the latch and prevent egress. Important: read about the risks of the internal snib on smart locks before enabling this feature. Both the flush insert and the turn snib kit are included in the box at no additional cost.
Additional Information
The Cadell52 ML95 kit is certified for Firecore (AU), E-Core (AU), and Hallmark (NZ) fire door assemblies up to 2 hours - the broadest fire certification in the Cadell52 range. All hardware in the assembly - hinges, seals, closers, strikes - must also be independently fire rated and compatible with the specified door system. Three oval cylinder scenarios apply to this product: (1) If fitting the cylinder into the Cadell52 outside handle directly (not into the mortice lock), use a 34mm oval cylinder (Art. 410-BLK-KD, not included). (2) If fitting the cylinder into the mortice lock for door thickness 32-64mm, use the 50mm cylinder included in the box (Art. 410/50-BLK-KD). (3) For door thickness 64-90mm, order the 62mm cylinder separately (Art. 410/62-BLK-KD). Using the wrong cylinder length will result in incorrect key function or cam engagement failure.
The Cadell52 is designed to fit over most Australian commercial mortice furniture with standard post spacing. Measure your door before ordering and confirm post spacing against the supplied fitting template before chiselling or drilling. See our DIY installation guide. If the existing lock leaves a hole pattern that doesn't align with the Cadell52 fixing posts, a scar plate is required. Three plate sizes are available - measure the existing hole pattern before ordering.
IP66 confirms complete protection against dust ingress and protection against powerful water jets from any direction on both the external and internal handles. This is a significant advantage in applications where the internal handle may be exposed to moisture - such as covered external corridors, commercial kitchens, or humid environments. IP66 does not mean submersion-proof - do not immerse the lock in water.
The Cadell52 outside handle uses a rubber gasket against the door surface as part of its water-resistant seal. When fitting the outside handle over the oval cylinder, resistance will be felt as the gasket seats - this is normal and expected. Push the handle firmly and evenly until fully seated. Do not use excessive force with tools on the face of the handle; apply pressure to the body only.
Lockton (SIEPER Group) warrants the Cadell52 against defects in materials and workmanship for:
- 10 years - mechanical components
- 3 years - electronic components
