The Keyin S is not fitted with a mechanical key cylinder. The Keyin S is managed through the Keyin Plus app, available on iOS 13.0 or later and Android 8.0 or later. Battery and Power
The Keyin S is powered by 4 x AA alkaline batteries (LR6, 1.5V) at a rated 6V DC. Expected battery life is approximately 12 months at 10 uses per day. Use quality alkaline batteries - avoid rechargeable NiMH cells, which can cause erratic behaviour due to lower voltage. Replace all four together: mixing new and old cells, or inserting one the wrong way round, can cause leakage. Locking, Auto-Lock and Modes

Most smart locks sense the door closing and then drive a motor to throw a deadbolt, which leaves a short gap where the door is shut but not yet locked. - Front body x1 - the exterior panel carrying the illuminated touch keypad, the card key touch spot, the low battery indicator, the open buttons and the 9V emergency power contact
- Main body x1 - the interior unit carrying the latch bolt, door closing sensor, battery cover, manual knob, speaker, open/close button and the S registration button
- Main bracket x1

- Strike extenders x2 - packers used to bring the strike-to-body gap into the 5 mm range

Not included: the 9V battery used for emergency power, the Keyin + Finger fingerprint module, and the WiFi bridge needed for remote access and smart home integration. Spare card keys must be Keyin-supplied - other-brand cards and phone NFC cannot be registered to this lock.
One note on the packers: the product manual lists a 1.5 mm and a 3.5 mm strike extender, while the installation guide lists two at 1.5 mm. Check which pair is actually in your carton before you set the strike, and aim for the 5 mm plus or minus 1 mm gap described in the installation notes.
Keyin S - Dimensions
Front body (exterior keypad panel) 86 mm wide x 86.5 mm high x 19 mm deep. Main body (interior unit) 162 mm wide x 91 mm high x 53.5 mm deep. The face dimensions come from the manufacturer's dimension sheet and agree exactly with the specification page of the product manual, which is also the source for the depths. The sheet carries no scale statement, so do not print it as a 1:1 template - mark out from the fold-out template in the installation guide instead.
