Lockwood Lume Interior Smart Lever - Fingerprint, App & Key - Matt Black
The Lockwood Lume is an interior smart lever designed for the doors inside your home, such as a garage connecting door, home office, study, or store room. It combines fingerprint access, mobile app control, and a mechanical key override in a slim matt black lever that suits most interior timber doors.
The Lume runs on the Lockwood Home App (also compatible with the Yale Home App), available on iOS and Android ![]()
, giving you tailored user access, 24/7 activity trails, and app control over Bluetooth. Remote access and voice assistant control are available when the lock is paired with the Lockwood Home Hub (sold separately).
It is a plug-in design that fits the majority of doors with a 54mm bore hole and needs no door modification, making it a straightforward upgrade for an existing interior door. Because it is built for internal use, the Lume is best paired with a dedicated entry lock on external doors.

Battery, Power & Backup
The Lume is powered by 4 x AAA alkaline batteries, which are included. When the batteries are low you receive a notification in the app and a voice prompt from the lock, so you have warning on both ends. If the batteries run flat, a USB Type-C connection provides emergency power to get you back in, and the mechanical key override is always available as a backup.
Remote Access & Home Hub
On its own, the Lume works locally over Bluetooth for fingerprint, app, and key access. To manage and monitor the lock from anywhere, and to add Amazon Alexa and Google Home voice control, pair it with the Lockwood Home Hub (sold separately). The Home Hub is the central connection point for your Lockwood and Yale smart devices and enables remote control through the Lockwood Home App. To understand what a gateway does and how the options compare, see Chapter 08 - Gateway Comparison.
Frequently Asked Questions
No, not for day-to-day use. Fingerprint, app, and key access all work locally over Bluetooth. You only need the Lockwood Home Hub (sold separately) if you want remote access or voice assistant control.
No. This model is opened by fingerprint, by the Lockwood Home App, or by mechanical key. There is no number pad on the lever.
Interior timber doors from 35 to 60 mm thick, with a 54 mm bore hole and an adjustable 60 to 70 mm backset. It is a plug-in design that needs no door modification on most existing interior doors. If you are unsure how to measure, see Chapter 02 - Measuring Your Door.
You will get low battery warnings in the app and a voice prompt from the lock beforehand. If the batteries do go flat, use the USB Type-C emergency power connection or the mechanical key override to get in. See Mechanical Key Override on Smart Locks for how the override works.
The Lume is designed for interior doors and is not weather rated, so it is not suitable for external entry doors. For a front or entry door, look at a dedicated entry lock such as the Lockwood 001Touch Plus Smart Deadlatch, which runs on the same Lockwood Home App platform.
Additional Information
The Lume is a specialist interior lever, not an entry lock. Its Internal Forced Lock gives complete privacy from the inside, where only the admin fingerprint or the key override can operate the lock, while Passage Mode can disable auto-lock so the door opens freely when you want it to. Because it is plug-in and needs no door modification, it is one of the simpler smart upgrades for an existing interior door with a 54 mm bore.
The Lume works within the wider Lockwood and Yale Home ecosystem, so it can sit alongside other Lockwood and Yale smart devices and be controlled from either the Lockwood Home App or the Yale Home App. Adding the Lockwood Home Hub unlocks remote access and voice assistant control. Lockwood is an ASSA ABLOY brand and one of Australia's most recognised locking names, backed by the Lockwood 25 Year Mechanical Warranty; for background on the brand, see Chapter 10 - Brand Profiles.
New to smart locks? Chapter 01 - What is a Smart Lock explains the basics. Because the Lume is plug-in with no door modification, it suits a DIY fit; Chapter 12 - Installation & Troubleshooting covers fitting and the common gotchas. For more general answers, see Chapter 13 - Smart Lock FAQ.
