The S5 (this product) holds 5 keys and has a larger body than the S6. If only 2 keys are needed, the slimmer S6 is more compact. A protective weather cover for the S5 is not available in the current Kidde range (the SU1310/SU1375 covers suit C3 and S6 bodies only).

What is the difference between the S5 and the S6?
The S5 holds 5 keys and has a larger body (105 x 65 x 55 mm). The S6 holds 2 keys and has a slimmer body (100 x 59 x 41 mm). Choose the S5 if you need to store more than two keys, or if you want capacity for a smart lock override key alongside other keys.

Can the combination be changed after installation?
Yes. The combination is resettable at any time without removing the key safe from the wall. Reset the code whenever a contractor, cleaner, or tenant no longer requires access.

Is drilling required for installation?
Yes. The S5 is a permanent wall-mount key safe installed with screws into the wall. Mounting hardware and instructions are included. For a no-drill option, see the Kidde KeySafe C3 Portable.

Is it suitable for outdoor use?
Yes, when installed in a suitable sheltered location. The S5 body is designed for outdoor wall mounting. Note that a dedicated weather cover for the S5 is not currently available in the Kidde range (the SU1310/SU1375 covers suit the C3 and S6 bodies only).

Can I use the S5 to store a smart lock's mechanical override key?

The override key must live outside the home. If you have a smart lock with a mechanical key override, the override key should be stored in a key safe mounted outside — not inside — the property.
