Auslock Smart Deadbolt T13B — Black

The Auslock T13B is a motorised smart deadbolt for residential timber entry doors. It delivers five onboard access methods — fingerprint, PIN code, RFID card, Bluetooth app, and mechanical key override — in a compact 75 × 143 mm front panel weighing just 1.3 kg. A built-in door sensor monitors open/closed state, auto-lock and passage mode are configurable via the Auslock App, and optional remote access is available when paired with an Auslock G2 or G3 gateway.

The T13B suits doors from 40–90 mm thick — a wider range than most standard deadbolts — and is constructed from aluminium alloy. Batteries are installed as the final step after mechanical fitting, with the door open, to avoid lockout during setup.

Battery, Power & Backup

  • Batteries: 4 × AA alkaline (6 V) — not included. Alkaline only — lithium and rechargeable batteries must not be used.
  • Install order: complete the full mechanical installation — bolt, exterior, interior assembly, door sensor adjustment — then install batteries as the final step with the door open.
  • Low-battery alert: triggered below 4.8 V via the lock and the Auslock App. Replace all four batteries immediately when notified.
  • No USB emergency power port on this model. The mechanical key is the only backup if batteries are fully flat. Keep a key stored outside the premises at all times.

Remote App Access & Gateway

The T13B connects to the Auslock App via Bluetooth for local control (within ~5 m). The lock communicates directly with your phone without any network involvement in standalone Bluetooth mode — it is not exposed to internet-based attacks without a gateway. For remote access from anywhere — locking, unlocking, viewing history, and managing credentials — an Auslock Gateway is required.

Which gateway? The G2 (Wi-Fi, USB-C) suits most homes and rentals. The G3 (PoE/Ethernet) suits commercial or IT-managed environments. The gateway must be within ~12 m of the lock. Auslock gateways use 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only — if your router merges bands, see the band-steering guide. Full comparison: G2 vs G3 — Auslock gateways.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do I need to set the opening direction in the app?
After pairing the T13B to the Auslock App, set the door opening direction (left or right) in the app settings before using the lock. If the bolt throws the wrong way, check that the opening direction setting matches your door. This is a one-time app setup step — unlike lever-style locks, there is no physical handle to adjust.

My permanent passcode stopped working — why?
Permanent passcodes must be used at least once within 24 hours of creation, otherwise they auto-expire as a security measure. Create the code, test it from the keypad immediately, and it will remain active indefinitely. Timed codes have the same 24-hour first-use requirement.

The lock accepts my code but the bolt does not move — what do I check?
Replace all four AA batteries with a fresh set of brand-name alkaline cells first. Then test with the door open — if the bolt throws correctly open, the issue is strike plate alignment when the door is closed. Even 1–2 mm of door sag or frame movement can prevent the bolt from retracting cleanly. Adjust the strike plate position and test again.

How do I factory reset the lock?
Open the back panel battery cover. Hold the Reset button for 5 seconds. When prompted, enter 0000# (four zeros + #) on the keypad. The lock confirms the reset and all users, codes, cards, and fingerprints are removed. Note: the reset code for this model is four zeros — not three.

How many wrong PIN attempts before lockout, and for how long?
Five consecutive wrong entries lock the keypad for 90 seconds. All other access methods — fingerprint, RFID, Bluetooth app, and mechanical key — continue to work during the lockout period.

How do I set up voice control with Google or Alexa?
Voice control requires a G2 or G3 gateway to be online. For Google Home setup, search "ScienerSmart" under Works with Google in the Google Home app and link your Auslock account. For Amazon Alexa setup, enable the ScienerSmart skill in the Alexa app and authorise with your Auslock credentials. Voice unlock requires a confirmation code set in the app. Locking by voice does not require a code.

A guest cannot get in — what is the fastest fix?
Check: (1) the PIN code is still active and has not expired; (2) the RFID card was enrolled on this specific lock; (3) the keypad wakes when touched — if dim or slow, replace all four AA batteries immediately; (4) if the lock sounds correct but bolt does not move, check strike plate alignment with door closed. Keep your mechanical key and admin app access as backup methods in urgent situations.

The touchpad has no response after installation — what do I check?
First confirm the AA batteries are installed with correct polarity and have sufficient charge. Remove the back panel and check the wire connection between front and back panels. If both are correct, remove the lock and check that no wiring is pinched inside the door prep, then re-wire and reinstall.

Additional Information

Cylinder rod alignment during installation: When fitting the exterior assembly, keep the cylinder rod (spindle) horizontal. Incorrect orientation will prevent the deadbolt motor from engaging correctly after installation. If the bolt does not operate after fitting, remove the exterior panel and check the cylinder rod position before assuming a fault.

Door sensor adjustment: After mechanical installation, loosen the rear panel screws and push the door sensor towards the door frame until it is within sensing distance of the magnet. Retighten. Correct sensor alignment is required for auto-lock and door status monitoring to work accurately.

App platform: The T13B runs on the Auslock App — a dedicated platform separate from TTLock or Tuya. The app supports iOS and Android, multiple admin levels, e-key sharing, scheduled access, and full unlock records. Remote access requires an Auslock G2 or G3 gateway. Not sure which platform suits your situation? See Chapter 15 — Choosing the right smart lock app platform.

Managing multiple users and locks: One Auslock account manages multiple locks. Create individual named codes for each person — guest, cleaner, staff — rather than sharing one code. This keeps the activity log readable and allows you to remove one person's access without changing all credentials. Fingerprints can be enrolled with permanent, timed, or recurring validity as needed.

Fingerprint registration: Register each fingerprint while standing beside the lock with the app open. Ensure fingers are clean and dry. Enrol the same finger at 2–3 slightly different angles to improve recognition reliability. Add a second finger as backup.

Lifespan: See how long digital door locks last in Australian conditions.
