FORGE A3 Automatic Push Pull Smart Lock - Fingerprint, 50 m RF Remote
At A Glance
(Up To 50 m)
(Not Listed)
The FORGE A3 Automatic Push Pull Smart Lock (FESMTLKA3BLRFA) is the remote-control member of FORGE's automatic push pull range: an RF remote opens the door from up to 50 metres away, and the motorised mortice deadlocks itself when the door sensor sees the door close.
At the door it opens by fingerprint, PIN code, RFID card, NFC and a mechanical key. FORGE lists no app for this RF version - it says a Bluetooth app model is sold separately. It runs on 8 x AA batteries and suits doors 40-100 mm thick on a 60 mm-backset mortice.
For app control over Bluetooth, look at the FORGE A7 or A2. Made in China for FORGE, an Australian brand based in Ringwood, Victoria, with FORGE's 2-year warranty.
Usually ships in 24 hours.
Owned by FORGE Electrical (Australia) · Manufactured in China. Our independent FORGE brand profile sets out how the range compares with the other brands we stock.
Access Methods
From the inside, two quick-open buttons open the door, and a manual knob is the mechanical backup. Only the administrator's credential and the key open the door while it is locked from inside.

App and RF Remote
The A3 is FORGE's RF version: its included remote and the keypad do the work, and FORGE lists no app for it. FORGE's page says a Bluetooth app-controlled model is also available - if you want app control and remote guest codes, choose the A7, A7X or A2 instead.
The remote unlocks the A3 from up to 50 m away, per FORGE - handy for opening the door from the driveway or for someone with their hands full. It is a radio remote for this lock only: it is not FORGE's TTLock remote or its glass-door remote. FORGE's leaflet shows a 433 radio module on the lock's board (leaflet page 2).
FORGE's OEM leaflet for the A3 includes a Tuya Bluetooth setting in its menu, but FORGE's A3 RF page lists no app - ask us before you rely on app control. How apps and remotes compare is in Chapter 03 - access methods compared.

FORGE Push Pull Smart Locks
This product is the bold row. All are fully automatic push pull locks on a mortice - compare door fit and backsets on each page, and see smart locks on push pull doors - the three pathways and all push pull smart locks.
FORGE offers no add-ons in the A3's options. Its page mentions an optional dummy lock for French double doors - not in our range yet, so ask us. More hardware is in our smart lock accessories.
Battery and Emergency Power
FORGE's A3 page lists 8 x 1.5 V AA alkaline batteries, rated at up to 400 days (FORGE's leaflet specification says 4 x AA - we follow FORGE's page). Batteries are not included. The lock gives a voice prompt when they run low. If they go flat, power the lock from a 5 V power bank through the USB-C port and open it normally (leaflet page 2), or use the mechanical key. More on what really affects battery life.
Weather Rating - Not Published
FORGE does not publish an IP rating for the A3. Fit it where the outside handle is sheltered from driving rain, and see IP ratings explained.
FORGE A3 - Technical Specifications
Dimensions
Check the door thickness (40-100 mm) and that the door edge takes the 6068 mortice - measuring for a push pull lock.
Platform and Data
Platform. The A3 RF version works on its own: FORGE lists the keypad, fingerprint, card, NFC, key and the included RF remote, and no app or cloud account. FORGE sells a Bluetooth app model separately.
Where your data goes. With no app, user data stays in the lock. If you would rather manage a lock from your phone, our guide to where each smart lock platform hosts its data explains what an app account involves.
Installation
The A3 fits a 6068 automatic mortice into the door edge, with the outside and inside handle panels bolted through the door. FORGE's leaflet shows each step with drawings.
- Mark the door from the template with the handle 1,000-1,200 mm above the floor, then drill and cut the mortice pocket.
- Fix the mortice with the four M5 x 10 screws - or the ST4.2 x 25 self-tapping screws on a timber door; the striking box is not needed on a metal door.
- Fit the threaded sleeves, fixing rod and transmission rod to the outside panel, feed the cable through and fasten the two panels with the two M5 screws.
- Fit the batteries, then check the OPEN / CLOSE buttons and the mortice before closing the door.
- Terry's offers installation across the Gold Coast - see also misalignment, the number one install mistake.
Which way a door is handed is explained in how to tell which way your door or gate opens.

FORGE A3 Automatic Push Pull Smart Lock - FAQ, Setup and Owner's Guide
Everything below is here to help you choose, fit, set up and live with the FORGE A3. For general smart lock questions see our Smart Lock FAQ (Chapter 13), and for measuring and fitting the Buyer's Guide.
Choosing the A3
Same automatic push pull idea, but the A3 trades the app for a 50 m RF remote and deadlocks itself on closing. The A7 uses the Tuya app over Bluetooth.
FORGE's description says so; its In the Box list leaves it out. Ask us if you want it confirmed before ordering.
Remote and Access
No - it is a radio remote for this lock. FORGE's TTLock and glass-door remotes are different products.
100 groups - 1 administrator and 99 users (FORGE).
FORGE lists NFC as an unlock method. Ask us which NFC tags or phones work before relying on it.
Locked from inside, the door opens only to the administrator's credential or the key - make sure everyone inside knows how to get out (best practice).
Power and Batteries
FORGE's page lists 8 x AA alkaline cells, up to 400 days. They are not included.
Plug a 5 V power bank into the USB-C port and open it normally (leaflet page 2), or use the key.
Installation and Fit
60 mm - it uses the 6068 automatic mortice. There is no backset choice for this model.
40-100 mm per FORGE - the supplied parts can be cut shorter for thinner doors.
Yes - FORGE says it suits all opening directions. See how to tell your door handing.
