Borg BL1006SCECP Mechanical Digital Cam Lock for Cabinet Doors - Easicode Pro - Satin Chrome

The Borg BL1006SCECP puts proper keyless access on cabinets, lockers, cupboards, and built-in joinery. It is a fully mechanical digital cam lock - a compact pushbutton keypad on the front, a rotating cam behind the door, and not a battery or wire anywhere in the system. Enter the code, turn, open.

The feature that lifts it above generic cabinet locks is Easicode Pro: the code is changed on the door, in place, without pulling the lock off. In a staff room, gym, clinic, or school where locker codes rotate with the people using them, that is the difference between a two-minute job and an afternoon of unscrewing doors.

Key Features

  • Fully mechanical digital cam lock - no batteries, wiring, or electronics anywhere in the system.
  • Easicode Pro on-door code changing - codes rotate in minutes without removing the lock from the door.
  • Compact 41mm-wide footprint sized for cabinets, lockers, cupboards, and joinery.
  • Single PIN code with over 500 possible combinations (Borg figure).
  • Non-handed - the one unit suits left-hand and right-hand opening doors.
  • Two cams and mounting hardware supplied - covers different cupboard constructions out of the box.
  • Suits door material up to 25mm thick.
  • Satin Chrome finish.

Suitable Uses

This is the mechanical digital answer for anything cupboard-sized: staff lockers, medication and first-aid cabinets, stationery cupboards, gym and pool lockers, tradie van drawers, server and comms cabinets, and school or clinic joinery. Anywhere a shared key currently gets lost, copied, or carried home, a code on the door solves it without adding batteries to the maintenance list. It is internal-only hardware - not weather resistant, so outdoor cabinets and wet areas are out of scope.

Designed for light to medium usage areas
Not suitable icon
Not suitable for high traffic commercial use
For heavy duty door applications consider the Lockwood 3572DX, Borg BL7701, or Carbine CDL7200LL-HD.

Access Methods

One method, done properly. The greyed rows show what this model deliberately leaves out - if you need a key fallback on a cabinet, the BL1706 sibling adds exactly that.

Method Availability Notes
PIN Code Available Single PIN, over 500 combinations - fully mechanical entry
Key Override Not Available No key cylinder on this model - see the BL1706 for a keyed version
Smartphone App Not Available Fully mechanical - nothing to pair, nothing to charge
Fingerprint Not Available Not offered on mechanical cam locks
RFID Card / Fob Not Available Not offered on mechanical cam locks

Changing the Code - Easicode Pro

Easicode Pro icon
Easicode Pro - Codes Change on the Door
Standard mechanical cabinet locks make you unscrew the unit and recode it at a bench. Easicode Pro does the whole job in place, following the steps in the operating instructions - a genuine two-minute task once you have done it twice. Our code changing guide explains how the ECP method compares with the bench method across the Borg range.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can this lock be retrofitted to existing cabinets?
Yes - the compact cam lock format is the usual retrofit choice, provided the existing door cut-out and cam clearance suit. The horizontal and vertical drilling templates on this page let you check the hole pattern against your door before ordering.
Does this cam lock require batteries?
No. It is a fully mechanical digital lock - no batteries, no wiring, no charging, ever. That is precisely why the format suits banks of lockers: nothing to flatten across fifty doors. Our plain-English explainer covers how battery-free keyless entry works.
How is the code changed?
On the door, using the Easicode Pro method in the operating instructions - no need to remove the lock. Each lock accepts a single PIN at a time, so changing the code immediately retires the old one.
Is this lock suitable for external or wet areas?
No. It is intended for internal use only and is not weather resistant. For coastal or exposed conditions on cabinet doors, the BL1706 sibling carries the Marine Grade Pro coating.
What door thickness and construction does it suit?
Door material up to 25mm thick - standard melamine, MDF, plywood, and metal locker doors all fall within that. Two cams are supplied to cover different cupboard constructions; check the drilling templates for the cut-out.

Additional Information

  • Fit the lock so the keypad sits at a comfortable height for the people actually using it - on tall locker banks, that usually means the second row from the top, not the top row.
  • For a bank of lockers, order one spare unit with the batch: a spare on the shelf turns any future damage into a ten-minute swap, and the genuine-parts backing means individual components stay available too.
  • Code-only access has a management upside: no master key to control, and no record of who holds copies - the code list is the whole system.
  • New to the category? Chapter 16 of the Buyer's Guide covers how the Borg, Lockwood, and Carbine mechanical ranges divide the work.
