McGrath Locks Spindle Kit for Hamilton Lock - Suits 100mm Door Thickness - Steel
This spindle kit provides the extended spindle length required to install a McGrath Hamilton lock on a door up to 100mm thick. Standard spindles supplied with the lock are cut for typical door thicknesses; on thicker timber, fire, or acoustic doors the standard spindle is too short to pass fully through the door and engage the internal furniture, which prevents the handle and lock from operating correctly.
The kit is a passive mechanical accessory. It contains no electronics, no battery, and no lock mechanism of its own - it is the drive component that carries handle rotation through the door to the Hamilton lock body. Steel construction is used for strength and long service life at the full 100mm door depth.
Usually same day if ordered before 11am AEST (excluding weekends and QLD public holidays)

It provides the correct extended spindle length to install a McGrath Hamilton lock on a door up to 100mm thick, where the standard spindle supplied with the lock is too short.
Yes. The kit includes the extended spindle and two fixing screws.
Fitting a standard-length spindle to a thick door leaves the spindle short of the internal furniture, so the handle feels loose or the lock will not operate. If a lock is not engaging correctly after fitting, the common DIY installation mistakes guide covers spindle and alignment issues.
This kit is made specifically for the McGrath Hamilton lock body. For McGrath Grange models, use the Grange extended tail piece kits listed in the related accessories table above.
