Master Lock 4400EC Enterprise Indoor Bluetooth Padlock
The Master Lock 4400EC is an indoor Bluetooth smart padlock for fast, keyless access using the Master Lock Vault Home or Vault Enterprise app. Unlock it from your smartphone, share temporary or permanent access with trusted users, and review an audit trail of activity from the app. A directional keypad on the lock provides backup access without a phone.
Indoor-rated and compact, the 4400EC suits shared storage, personal lockers, office cabinets, storerooms and commercial back-of-house access points where accountable, keyless control is the goal. It is part of the wider Master Lock Vault Enterprise Bluetooth range, so it can be managed alongside the outdoor and Pro Series padlocks, the Bluetooth key safes and the door controller.

Master Lock Vault
The 4400EC is managed through the Master Lock Vault apps, available on iOS and Android ![]()
. Vault Home is the free personal app, supporting up to 10 locks with access history. Vault Enterprise is the business platform, with a web interface for managing many locks and many users, assigning access on a temporary or ongoing basis, and reviewing audit trails. The same padlock works with either.
For a broader view of how a Bluetooth platform fits a business, see our guide to choosing a platform for commercial use, and the Master Lock enterprise access range.
Battery & Power
The 4400EC runs on a single CR2 battery, supplied and easy to replace. The padlock and the app both provide a low battery notification and reminder. If the battery does go flat while the lock is closed, the battery jump feature lets you apply temporary power to open it - see what happens when a smart lock battery dies.

Frequently Asked Questions
No. It is opened over Bluetooth from the Master Lock Vault app on your phone - there is no separate Wi-Fi bridge or gateway. See how Bluetooth access works.
No. The 4400EC is keyless - there is no cylinder. Backup access is the directional code on the lock, plus the battery jump if the battery is flat. For why some smart locks skip a key cylinder, see locks without key override.
It is an indoor-rated padlock, so it is best kept to indoor lockers, cabinets and storerooms. For an outdoor application with a weather cover, look at the 4401LHEC outdoor padlock instead.
Both. It works with Vault Home for personal use (up to 10 locks, with access history) and Vault Enterprise for business use (many locks and users, with audit trails). Compare padlock types in our which smart padlock suits you guide.
Additional Information
The 4400EC is the indoor member of the Master Lock Vault Enterprise Bluetooth range, sharing an app and audit trail with the outdoor and Pro Series padlocks, the Bluetooth key safes and the door controller. Where an organisation is standardising keyless access indoors - lockers, cabinets, storerooms and back-of-house - managing them from one platform is the main advantage. We cover the full range in our enterprise padlock overview, and compare padlock technology types in the four technology types section.
Worth planning for: this is a keyless padlock with no mechanical override, so the directional backup code and the battery jump are your fallbacks - keep the code set and the battery fresh. This is a genuine consideration and is discussed in the no key override section of our roundup. To weigh the 4400EC against other options, the Smart Lock Buyer's Guide is a good starting point.
