FORGE CB1 Smart Cabinet Lock - Glass Keypad, RFID Card, TTLock
At A Glance
(G5 Gateway)
The FORGE CB1 Smart Cabinet Lock (FECB01) is a keypad lock for cabinet doors 3-24 mm thick. A slim black glass touch keypad with a built-in card reader sits on the outside of the door; the lock body, batteries and latch stay out of sight inside. It opens with a PIN code (up to 250), a MIFARE M1 card (up to 1,000) or the TTLock app over Bluetooth, with FORGE's optional G5 gateway for remote access.
It works in one of two modes. In Private Mode the cabinet stays locked and only the people you authorise get in; in Public Mode it works like a locker - vacant cabinets stay unlocked and each user locks one with a one-time code or card of their own. Choose the version from the options on this page: FECB01TB with the spring-loaded latch receiver that pushes the door ajar when it unlocks, or FECB01TBDR with a fixed latch receiver for doors that already have a handle or pull.
FORGE designs the CB1DR mainly for vertical cabinet doors - the keypad cannot be rotated, so it is generally not recommended across a drawer front. For drawers, see the FORGE CB3 or the hidden FORGE CB2. The CB1 runs on 3 x AA batteries for about 15 months, with a USB-C emergency power port. Made in China for FORGE, an Australian brand based in Ringwood, Victoria, with FORGE's 2-year warranty.
Usually ships in 24 hours.
Owned by FORGE Electrical (Australia) · Manufactured in China. Our independent FORGE brand profile sets out how the range compares with the other brands we stock.
Access Methods
One administrator manages the lock in TTLock. Which users can open it depends on the mode - see Private Mode and Public Mode below.

TTLock App
Set the lock up in the free TTLock app, available for iOS and Android ![]()
. Choose Australia as your location when you sign up, give the app full permissions and turn Bluetooth on (manual page 10). Activate the lock first by pressing the reset button with a pin until it beeps twice - it then opens with the default passcode 123456# - and set the mode before adding it in the app (manual page 9). FORGE's TTLock pairing guide shows the general steps.
TTLock is one of the two global smart lock platforms - how it compares with Tuya is set out in our TTLock vs Tuya comparison, and the wider TTLock range in Chapter 14 - the TTLock hardware ecosystem. The app itself is covered in the TTLock app user manual.
Without a gateway the CB1 is managed over Bluetooth when your phone is within about 5-10 metres - see what a TTLock lock can do without Wi-Fi. FORGE offers the FORGE TTLock G5 gateway as the add-on for remote management: with it plugged in within range you can unlock remotely, send and change codes, manage cards and check entry records from anywhere - Bluetooth vs gateway in Chapter 14. Remote Unlock has to be switched on for the lock in the app (manual page 18).

Private Mode and Public Mode
The CB1 is set to one of two modes when it is installed, by entering a short code on the keypad before the lock is added to the app (manual page 11).
A user stores their things, closes the door and holds it shut, then enters a 4-10 digit code of their choosing followed by # - or presents an M1 card - to lock the cabinet. The same code or card opens it again, and the cabinet then resets for the next user (manual page 13). On the door-pusher version, a vacant cabinet is held slightly open by the receiver, so it is easy to see which ones are free. Suits gym and change-room lockers, hot desks and shared staff storage.

Will It Fit? Door Thickness, Receiver and Cut-outs
The CB1 suits cabinet doors 3-24 mm thick. The keypad mounts on the outside of the door and joins the lock body inside through three holes - 8, 16 and 8 mm in diameter on one vertical centreline, 36 mm and then 28 mm apart (64 mm overall) (manual page 6). Where the holes go depends on the latch receiver your version uses:
A is the door gap. Positions from FORGE's two CB1 installation measurement guides.
- Door gap (A) - with the door closed, measure the gap between the cabinet side (carcass) and the door edge. With a 2 mm gap the hole centreline sits 48 mm (door pusher) or 44 mm (fixed receiver) in from the carcass face.
- Door thickness - 3 to 24 mm.
- Receiver depth - mark the latch centreline on the cabinet frame and set the spring-loaded receiver back from the frame's front edge by the door thickness plus 2 mm (manual page 8).
- Room inside - the lock body is 122.8 x 65 mm and 22.8 mm deep, with the latch projecting 12 mm. Check shelves, hinges and drawers inside the cabinet clear it.
- Not sure? Send us a photo of the cabinet edge with a tape measure across the gap and we will check it with you.
FORGE's installation measurement guides give the cut-out position for each receiver: spring-loaded latch receiver (FECB01TB) - PDF and fixed latch receiver (FECB01TBDR) - PDF. Both are drawn for cabinet doors.
Available Finish Options
Black
(This Product)

Black keypad and lock body on both versions - choose the door-pusher (FECB01TB) or fixed-receiver (FECB01TBDR) version from the options on this page.
FORGE Smart Cabinet Locks
This product is in bold. All three run on TTLock over Bluetooth with the optional G5 gateway for remote access, and each is sold in two versions: TB with the spring-loaded latch receiver (door pusher) and TBDR with the fixed latch receiver. No IP rating - indoor cabinets and drawers.
Accessories and Spares
Other gateways are in the modules and Wi-Fi gateways category, and more cards and fobs in the RFID credentials range.
Battery and Emergency Power
The CB1 runs on 3 x AA alkaline batteries in the lock body inside the cabinet, rated by FORGE at about 10,000 unlocks or around 15 months. The lock warns you when about 50 to 100 unlocks remain - replace all three then. If the batteries go flat, power the keypad from its USB-C emergency port with a USB A-to-C cable and a power bank, open the cabinet and fit new cells. FORGE notes that a C-to-C cable may be treated as a power-delivery device and supply no power (manual page 20). There is no key override, so keep a power bank and an A-to-C cable where you can find them. More on what really affects battery life and power and battery FAQs.
Weather and Environment - Indoor Cabinets
FORGE gives no IP rating for the CB1 - it is made for indoor cabinets, with a working range of -20 to 60 degrees C and 20-90% humidity. Keep it away from wet areas, outdoor storage and anywhere it could be splashed or hosed.

Dimensions
The cut-out positions for each receiver are in Will It Fit? above, and the receiver drawing is also in the Dimensions tab.
Platform and Data
Platform. The CB1 runs on TTLock - Bluetooth to your phone, with the TTLock G5 gateway for remote access. Remote unlock and management need the gateway; at the cabinet the lock works without the internet.
Where your data goes. TTLock is run by Sciener, a Chinese company. Accounts outside China use TTLock's out-of-China servers; where that infrastructure is hosted, and which region Australian accounts use, is not published - in short, a Chinese company's servers, location unpublished. For the platform-by-platform picture see where each smart lock platform hosts its data, and for TTLock's security record see Chapter 14 - TTLock security.
Installation
Fitting takes a drill, a tape measure and the measurement guide for your version: three holes through the door, the keypad outside, the lock body inside, then the latch receiver on the cabinet. The installation section of the manual has drawings for each step.
- Measure the door gap (A) and mark the hole centreline at 50 - A mm (FECB01TB) or 46 - A mm (FECB01TBDR) from the cabinet side, using FORGE's spring-loaded or fixed receiver guide.
- Drill the 8, 16 and 8 mm holes on one vertical centreline, 36 mm and 28 mm apart (manual page 6).
- Connect the data cable between the keypad and the lock body, join them through the door with the M4 screws, then fit 3 x AA batteries and the battery cover (manual page 7).
- Mark the latch centreline on the cabinet frame and fit the receiver - the spring-loaded receiver sits back from the frame's front edge by the door thickness plus 2 mm (manual page 8).
- Activate it: press the reset button with a pin until it beeps twice. Close the door, swipe the keypad to wake it and check 123456# unlocks it - on the FECB01TB the receiver should push the door ajar (manual page 9).
- Set the mode - *41#123456#2# for Private or *41#123456#1# for Public - then add the lock in TTLock (manual page 12). Terry's offers installation across the Gold Coast.
Cabinet gaps and frames vary, so measure A on your own cabinet rather than copying another. Measuring photos that help us check a fit are in examples of helpful photos.
Frequently Asked Questions
The FECB01TB, with the spring-loaded receiver, for a cabinet door with no handle - it pushes the door ajar when it unlocks. The FECB01TBDR, with a fixed receiver, for a door that already has a handle or pull.
Locker use. Vacant cabinets stay unlocked; a user locks one with a 4-10 digit code of their choosing or an M1 card, and opens it again with the same code or card, which then expires. The administrator can open any cabinet.
Only for remote use. Codes, cards and the app over Bluetooth all work without it; add the FORGE TTLock G5 gateway to unlock or manage the lock from anywhere.
Power the keypad from the USB-C port with a USB A-to-C cable and a power bank, open the cabinet and fit 3 new AA cells. There is no key override.
Additional Information
- Choose the receiver first. The door-pusher (FECB01TB) and fixed (FECB01TBDR) versions drill to different positions - 50 - A against 46 - A mm.
- Measure the door gap before drilling. A 1 mm error in A moves the holes by 1 mm.
- Set the mode before handing it over. Until it is set up, the lock opens with the default passcode 123456#.
- Keep a power bank and a USB A-to-C cable handy - there is no key, and FORGE warns a C-to-C cable may not supply power.
- Public Mode codes are one-time. Each user's code or card works for one lock-and-unlock cycle, then the cabinet resets.
Warranty
2-year FORGE warranty from the date of delivery - covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. Excludes improper installation or maintenance, misuse, accident, normal wear and tear (including fading or dulling of finishes) and water damage beyond the product's rated IP protection. FORGE CB1 Smart Cabinet Lock - FAQ, Setup and Owner's Guide
Everything below is here to help you choose, fit, set up and live with the FORGE CB1. For general smart lock questions see our Smart Lock FAQ (Chapter 13), and for measuring and fitting the Buyer's Guide.
Choosing and Fitting
Only the latch receiver. The FECB01TB comes with a spring-loaded receiver whose ejector pin pushes the door ajar when the lock releases - so a door with no handle can be opened. The FECB01TBDR comes with a flat fixed receiver, for a door you pull open by its own handle.
3 to 24 mm (manual page 2).
Measure the door gap A between the cabinet side and the door edge. The hole centreline sits 50 - A mm from the cabinet side for the door-pusher version and 46 - A mm for the fixed receiver - FORGE's spring-loaded and fixed guides show it.
Three, on one vertical centreline: 8 mm, 16 mm and 8 mm, with 36 mm and then 28 mm between centres (manual page 6).
Modes and Access
After activating the lock, wake the keypad and enter *41#123456#2# for Private Mode or *41#123456#1# for Public Mode, then add the lock in TTLock as the administrator (manual page 14; manual page 12).
Close the door and hold it shut, then enter a 4-10 digit code followed by # or present an M1 card. The same code or card unlocks it once, then the cabinet is free for the next user (manual page 13).
Time-limited, one-time (used within 6 hours of creation), permanent and recurring. Time-limited and permanent codes must be used once within 24 hours or the lock suspends them (manual page 15; Chapter 14 - passcode types).
MIFARE M1 cards - up to 1,000. One is in the box; extra FORGE MIFARE 1K cards are sold separately, and FORGE supplies more on request (manual page 16).
An eKey gives another TTLock account the right to unlock - time-limited, one-time, permanent or recurring - with options for remote unlock, an unlock link that works without the app, or near-administrator rights (manual page 17; TTLock eKeys).
After five wrong attempts in a row the lock ignores all input for 90 seconds. The keypad goes back to sleep after 20 seconds without use.
Remote Access and the G5 Gateway
Only for remote use. Codes and cards work with no phone at all, and the app works over Bluetooth within about 5-10 metres. Add the FORGE TTLock G5 gateway to unlock, issue access or check records from away from the cabinet - what a gateway actually does and the G5 explained.
Plug it in indoors within Bluetooth range of the CB1, on a 2.4 or 5 GHz Wi-Fi network - the closer the better, with as few walls and cabinet panels in between as possible (gateway placement).
Remote Unlock must be switched on for the lock in the app (manual page 18). Check that the gateway shows the lock in range.
Power and Batteries
About 10,000 unlocks or 15 months on 3 x AA alkaline cells, depending on use. The lock warns you when about 50 to 100 unlocks remain.
Connect a power bank to the USB-C port with a USB A-to-C cable, open the cabinet with a code, card or the app, and replace the batteries. A C-to-C cable may supply no power (manual page 20).
Installation and Troubleshooting
Press the reset button with a pin until the lock beeps twice. It returns to its initial state and opens with 123456# (manual page 19).
On the FECB01TB, check the spring-loaded receiver is set back by the door thickness plus 2 mm and lined up with the latch. The FECB01TBDR's fixed receiver has no pusher - the door is pulled open by its handle.
