The LOCKTON SML-H-RBKIT is a purpose-made rebate kit that allows Lockton ELEV36 E-Series Hinged Locksets to be installed into rebated door frames. A rebated frame is one where both the door edge and the frame are stepped, creating an overlapping joint - this profile is not covered by the standard faceplate and strike supplied with the ELEV36 Hinged kit, making this accessory essential for a clean, flush installation.
The kit includes a profiled strike plate and lock plate dimensioned to suit the 15mm common rebate - the standard rebate depth found on most Australian residential and light-commercial hinged timber door frames. All fixings are included. No electronic components are involved: this is a purely mechanical hardware accessory with no battery, no app, and no connectivity requirements.
If your door frame is rebated, order the SML-H-RBKIT at the same time as your ELEV36 Hinged Lockset. It is compatible with all ELEV36 Hinged backset variants (25mm through 70mm) in both Black and Silver finishes. It is not required for flat (non-rebated) frames, and is not compatible with the ELEV36 Sliding Door Lockset.

This kit is supplied in a dark gunmetal steel finish and is installed inside the door frame rebate channel. The plates are not visible from the face of the door when the lock is installed correctly. Finish selection does not affect functionality or compatibility.

Installation Compatibility

No. The SML-H-RBKIT is sold separately. The ELEV36 Hinged Lockset includes a standard faceplate and strike for flat (non-rebated) frames. Order this kit in addition to the ELEV36 if your door frame has a 15mm rebate.
No. One SML-H-RBKIT suits all ELEV36 Hinged backsets from 25mm through 70mm. The kit is not backset-specific. Order one per door installation regardless of which ELEV36 Hinged backset variant you have selected.
No. The ELEV36 Sliding Door Lockset uses a different mortice and plate geometry. This kit is for ELEV36 Hinged installations only.
The SML-H-RBKIT suits the 15mm common rebate only. If your frame uses a non-standard rebate depth (e.g. 10mm or 20mm), this kit may not be compatible. Contact Terry's Locksmiths before ordering if you are uncertain about your frame depth.
No - the G2 WiFi Gateway is optional. The ELEV36 can be operated via Bluetooth, PIN, fingerprint, RFID, or key override without any gateway. The gateway is only needed if you want remote (WiFi) access via the TTLock app when you are not within Bluetooth range of the lock. The rebate kit is entirely unrelated to connectivity - it is a mechanical hardware accessory only.
Additional Information
A rebated frame has a stepped profile: both the door stop and the frame itself are cut back so the door closes into a recessed channel rather than against a flat surface. The edge of the door - and therefore the faceplate of the mortice lock - sits inside this stepped profile. A standard (flat) faceplate will not sit flush, leaving gaps that prevent correct latching. The profiled plates in this kit are shaped to match the 15mm rebated geometry. See Chapter 02 - Measuring Your Door for help identifying your frame type.
If you know your frame is rebated, add the SML-H-RBKIT to your order at the same time as the ELEV36 Hinged Lockset. Waiting until the lock is on-site before ordering this accessory adds delays to the installation. Terry's can advise on the correct product combination during the quoting stage.
The Lockton ELEV36 is a TTLock-platform smart mortice lock with six access methods: fingerprint, PIN code, RFID, key override, Bluetooth, and WiFi via the optional G2 Gateway. It manages up to 300 users, suits hinged and sliding doors, and is available in Black and Silver finishes across a wide backset range. How to Make a Claim
Lockton products are sold exclusively through trade channels. End-users who have received a Lockton product via an installer or trade supplier should contact their installer in the first instance — the trade supplier will liaise with Lockton Security to process the claim on your behalf.
To lodge a warranty claim through Terry’s Tradies Pty Ltd and its associated websites, trading names, and subsidiaries (including Gold Coast Smart Locks), please follow these steps:
- Contact us with details of the defect and, where possible, installation images.
- Supply your proof of purchase (invoice number or receipt).
- Provide contact details for claim updates.
- A Goods Return Number (GRN) will be obtained from Lockton Security on your behalf.
- Package the product securely, include the GRN, and return it as directed. Products returned without a GRN may not be accepted.
Once a correctly submitted claim is assessed by Lockton Security and approved, they will at their own cost and discretion either: repair and return the product; provide a replacement or similar product; supply refurbished goods of equivalent type and quality (covered under the remaining warranty period); or refund the purchase price. If the claim is not approved, Lockton Security will advise in writing and the product will be returned at the customer’s expense, or recycled upon request.
Exclusions
The Lockton warranty does not cover:
- Damage caused by improper use or incorrect product selection
- Improper installation
- Fair wear and tear
- Environmental conditions outside product specifications (e.g. coastal air, high humidity, or exposure to corrosive substances)
- Products that have been modified, repaired, or altered
- Use of non-genuine replacement parts or accessories
- Batteries (no warranty applies)

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.
