Frequently Asked Questions

When do I need a 50 mm latch instead of 60 mm?
When the door is prepared with the lock closer to the edge than the standard 60 mm. If you are unsure, measure from the door edge to the centre of the spindle hole - see measuring your lock backset.
Does it suit both the 2000 and 4000 Series?
Yes - it is the 50 mm latch for both the Borg 2000 and 4000 Series knob and lever locks.
Is the strike plate included?
No - latch only. The strike plate and box keeper is a separate part.

Additional Information

The backset is fixed by the door preparation, not by preference - measure before ordering so the latch lines up with the existing spindle and fixing holes.
Need the standard size instead? The 60 mm latch is the usual Australian backset.
For where this part sits in the wider range, see Chapter 16, Mechanical Digital Locks in the Buyer's Guide, and Chapter 02, Measuring Your Door for getting the backset and door thickness right.
