The ASSA ABLOY SMARTair i-MAX R4N Sliding Door Escutcheon Kit is an electronic access control kit built specifically for sliding doors. It pairs a SMARTair i-MAX R4N electronic escutcheon (with integrated MIFARE RFID reader) with the Lockwood Selector 3773E sliding door mortice lock, giving a matched, ready-to-commission solution for controlled sliding openings.
This is the card-based model: users are admitted by MIFARE RFID card or tag, with a smartphone virtual key available as well on the Openow variants. If you need on-door PIN entry, choose the keypad version of this kit instead.
The included Lockwood 3773E provides the mechanical, self-latching locking mechanism, while the SMARTair escutcheon controls the handle electronically through the access control system and keeps an on-lock audit trail. A mechanical key override is retained through a Lockwood oval cylinder for battery-flat or emergency access.

This escutcheon runs on ASSA ABLOY's SMARTair platform, administered locally through TS1000 software - a Windows client or the browser-based Web Manager. Users, doors, credentials, time zones and audit data are managed on the site's own server or through the Web Manager; there is no dependency on a third-party lock cloud.
The system scales in tiers: Update-on-Card (permissions carried on the user's card), Openow smartphone credentials, and Wireless Online (real-time management via SMARTair hubs). The Lockwood 3773E sliding door mortice lock used in this kit is intended for installation on fire-rated door assemblies when it forms part of a certified door system.
Fire performance is a property of the complete door assembly - the door leaf, frame, sliding hardware, lock body, escutcheon and any required intumescent protection - not of any single item. Certification always attaches to the tested assembly.

Openow Smartphone Access
On the Openow variants (Update-on-Card plus Openow, and Wireless Online plus Openow), building users can carry a virtual key in the Openow app instead of, or alongside, a physical card. Facility managers send, update or revoke virtual keys over the air from the TS1000 software, so a lost credential is cancelled without changing hardware. The Openow app is available for iOS and Android .
If a project needs the smartphone option, add an Openow mobile access licence. The plain Update-on-Card variant (item code ending CB) is card only.

No - this is the card-based model. If you need on-door PIN entry, choose the keypad version of this kit, which adds an integrated keypad and Card-plus-PIN authentication.
The 3773E retains a mechanical key override through a Lockwood oval cylinder, so the door can still be opened with a key if the escutcheon loses power. See our guide to key override when the battery dies.
Only for the Wireless Online tier, which communicates in real time through SMARTair hubs. The Update-on-Card tiers carry permissions on the user's card and do not need a hub. Openow smartphone access works over Bluetooth at the door.
13.56 MHz MIFARE Classic and Ultralight credentials - cards, fobs, wristbands or stickers. Credentials are encoded with the SMARTair encoder or portable programmer.

Additional Information
Card model vs keypad model. This is the card-based kit. It admits users on MIFARE cards or tags (plus Openow smartphone keys on the Openow variants). If any door on the site needs a PIN option at the door, order the keypad version for that opening - both share the same escutcheon body, DDA handle and 3773E mortice.
Choosing the right tier. If access changes rarely and the site does not need live monitoring, an Update-on-Card variant is the simplest and lowest-cost option. If you need real-time revocation, alerts or remote door control, choose the Wireless Online tier and plan for SMARTair hubs. Openow adds smartphone keys on either Openow variant.
Commissioning. SMARTair standalone and Update-on-Card doors are set up with the SMARTair portable programmer, and RFID credentials are written with the SMARTair USB encoder. For a managed rollout, the Update-on-Card plus Openow 10-door kit or the Wireless Online plus Openow 10-door kit bundle the software licence and management hardware. Sites needing emergency lockdown can add the TS1000 lockdown upgrade.
Hinged doors on the same system. This kit is for sliding doors. For hinged doors on the same credentials, the SMARTair i-MAX hinged escutcheons pair with matched Lockwood mortices - for example the 3782 (23 mm backset), 4782 (25.4 mm), 5782 (30 mm narrow) and 6782 (38 mm). Those mortices suit hinged-door escutcheons and do not replace the sliding-door 3773E in this kit.
ASSA ABLOY branded products purchased new in Australia from authorised resellers are covered against defects in materials and workmanship for:
