Lockton E-Series Euro Smart Mortice Lock Body - Sliding Door - 45mm Backset - 270x22mm Faceplate
This Lockton E-Series euro mortice lock body suits sliding and bifold doors. It features a hook bolt mechanism rather than a latch — the hook bolt engages a striker on the door frame as the door closes and retracts when the handle is operated. This design is essential for sliding doors, where a standard latch would disengage under sideways load from the door's natural movement.
Available with a 45mm backset, this body suits sliding doors where the existing or planned mortice prep places the spindle at 45mm from the door edge. The 270mm x 22mm faceplate is longer than the hinged door equivalent, accommodating the extended hook bolt cavity. Lock centres are 85mm — the standard for this class of mortice body. The 8mm square spindle hub accepts all Lockton and McGrath E-Series sliding door smart lock lever sets.
McGrath Locks does not stock a matching mortice body at this backset size. This Lockton body is compatible with McGrath brand smart locks and can be used as the mortice component in any McGrath E-Series installation at this backset.

Frequently Asked Questions
Measure from the door edge to the centre of the existing spindle hole (or latch/hook hole). For sliding doors the relevant dimension is taken perpendicular to the door edge, not along it. If that distance is 45mm, this body is correct. See Chapter 02 — Measuring Your Door and our backset measurement guide.
On a sliding door, a standard spring latch would disengage under the lateral load as the door moves along its track. A hook bolt rotates to engage the strike plate positively and is specifically designed to hold against this lateral force. This is the standard mechanism for all Lockton and McGrath sliding door mortice bodies. See Chapter 04 — Door Type Compatibility for more on sliding door hardware requirements.
Yes. The Lockton E-Series sliding door mortice bodies are compatible with McGrath ML-A210, ML-A231, and ML-A236 sliding door smart locks (these are the models McGrath offers for sliding doors, distinct from the ML-NX5 which is hinged-door only). McGrath does not stock a version at the 45mm backset, but this Lockton body is fully compatible with the McGrath sliding door range.
Yes, where the bifold door has a standard mortice channel at 45mm backset and uses a similar hook-bolt mechanism. Confirm the geometry of your bifold door stile before ordering. Terry's can advise on suitability — call or visit the showroom.
No. This is the internal lock body only. The smart lock handle and keypad are sold separately. For a complete sliding door smart lock solution, see the Lockton ELEV36 E-Series (Sliding Door).

Warranty Summary
Warranty periods run from the date of purchase. Proof of purchase is required for all claims.
How to Make a Claim
Lockton products are sold exclusively through trade channels. End-users who have received a Lockton product via an installer or trade supplier should contact their installer in the first instance — the trade supplier will liaise with Lockton Security to process the claim on your behalf.
To lodge a warranty claim through Terry’s Tradies Pty Ltd and its associated websites, trading names, and subsidiaries (including Gold Coast Smart Locks), please follow these steps:
- Contact us with details of the defect and, where possible, installation images.
- Supply your proof of purchase (invoice number or receipt).
- Provide contact details for claim updates.
- A Goods Return Number (GRN) will be obtained from Lockton Security on your behalf.
- Package the product securely, include the GRN, and return it as directed. Products returned without a GRN may not be accepted.
Once a correctly submitted claim is assessed by Lockton Security and approved, they will at their own cost and discretion either: repair and return the product; provide a replacement or similar product; supply refurbished goods of equivalent type and quality (covered under the remaining warranty period); or refund the purchase price. If the claim is not approved, Lockton Security will advise in writing and the product will be returned at the customer’s expense, or recycled upon request.

You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. The Lockton manufacturer warranty is offered in addition to, and does not limit, these statutory rights.
